gtm FI turnkey kit question
hey with the turn key kit, the license that we get is for Osiris standard right. The reason I ask is becuase under under the cable management program, it says rom editor is disabled. So i noticed on the uprev website for 200 usd you can upgrade from standard to tuner and that will allow tuners that dont have uprev to still tune your car. i did a quick searchand didn't see anything, i thought i did a while back but just want to be sure

Ditto... looks all we can do besides logging is get the flash from Sam and update our ECU.
I see UpRev has a tweak for DE/HR owners to allow 100% throttle, but I'm not sure if it's available for us. Sam says he never touch the throttle tables or settings with his tunes.

Although it does sound great and fairly inexpensive to upgrade your software to the tuner version so you can tune the car yourself or have someone that does not have the tuner software themselves to be able to tune the car now, But I Don't think it is such a good idea and i always try to talk our customers out of it, Even though it is a easy buck for us . Now don't get me wrong in some cases this option could come real handy, Also this option what makes our FI kits superior to any other kit in the market sense all you have to do is just update the ECU license that you have for a small fee and now you can do what ever you want. But few things you need to keep in mind before you take this step.
- Tuning your FI car does require a high level of experience and i think learning how to tune your car and having the ability to do some tweaking may sound exiting but you just need to also know that there is no room for mistakes. - Sure,Having the tuner lic on your ecu is great because now you can take your car and cable to any tuner shop and they will tune it for you, but that on its own is also risky because if that tuner is not on the uprev web site to begin with, it means that he can not be that familiar with you car and most likely he will be getting that experience on your car . So keep this in mind, if it is not broken don't fix it . Sam Last edited by SAM@GTM; 10-16-2011 at 11:35 PM. |

Not doubting you or arguing so please don't take it that way
I figured as far as the NA to turbo there were really limited risk now considering what we are pushing this stock block to. Considering you tuned one to 611 hp with the stage 2 set up and supporting mods only and also the success of ppl running FI. Now yes alot of that can be claimed by your performance capabilities and I wish my tune wasn't locked and just have someone around here that is good a tuning just fine tune it more to my exact car would be awesome. Sucks your all the way in Cali and I just don't have the leave days to go to a authorized uprev tuner. As for my area there is no one that uses it, but there is a tuner that is highly respected and specializes in exotic cars. As for me doing it I am not that stupid yet lol. I value more car to much to be dumb to start messing with numbers. |

Good to know the possibility is there. Sam why did you decide not touch the throttle tables to improve response. Is that something you could add to the tune if requested or do you not reccomended it?
