my 305 30 19 RE11s did not impress... they just blow right off all day long. no where near as sticky as my R888s were, which is probably what i will be going back to. Everyone said to try the RE-11s instead of staying with R888s... well, they was wrong! people who think that they are going to give up a little traction for longer tread life and get the RE11s, think again! When all they do is spin, they dont last any longer. My R888s on my more powerful 350z hooked up better and lasted longer due to it. For reference, my RE-11s mileage was roughly like so... about 2000 miles as NA with 2.5 degree neg camber, then i boosted the car and put the camber at 1.5 degrees, and its gone another 6700 miles boosted. They are absolutely done, probably a couple hundred more miles before the steel cords are showing. So I guess 9000 miles isnt terrible but I need to start getting 2nd gear to be a little useable. I am going to crawl back to my R888s wishing I never left.

most of the tires being listed off here aren't really gonna help much with straight line traction. You wind up being kind of at odds with yourself if you are looking for both. If you have an idea of how much you're gonna be using the car for each, we can probably better help you figure out a tire that will work.

bringing this thread back from the dead as opposed to starting a new one... (hint) my 305 michelin PSSs are WORTHLESS. I can spin 4th if I want it to. I really think the Toyo R888s may be the best of both worlds.. I noticed someone said the MT ET street, great tire however with that 30 series sidewall it may still not hook all that great. I definitely wasted money on my PSS's... anyone else have good things to say about the R888s? I drove my buddies boosted 350 with them and it hooked a lot better than my car but isn't making as much power.. Anyone else putting down 500whp+ have a tire recommendation that at least makes 3rd gear usable?

I had the Nitto NT05's on my last car. They are a harder tire. Sucked in the rain but really stuck in the dry weather. They were still in good conditions when I traded in the last Z. That's with 16k of FI on them. Never tracked just street.

As much tire as you can get, and race logic (or something similar)
Seriously though regarding brands/models, r888s have been good to me in the past on a boosted z33. Better than re11s at any rate. |

I had someone recommend some NT-05s to me (don't remember where) but I was wondering how much stickier they could be than my PSSs? Id rather get 6-7k of sticky miles out of some Toyo R888s then 8-9K spinning the crap out of my tires..

Id love to stuff a 315 or 325 under there.. Maybe when I get sick of my wheels I will reweigh my options. Racelogic sounds great but I just cant justify paying so much money for the unit right now. Of course its on my wish-list..

I have a customer running an 305 RE-11. He still spins first and will spin half way through second but it hooks up top. He is making roughly 420whp using the stillen kit last time we tuned.
Other sticky tires to put on your list RS-3 from Hankook, Z1 StarSpec from Dunlop, and the Continental DW isnt bad just not as good as the big 3 I mentioned prior. Toyo R888 is sticky as well. The biggest problem with the super sticky tires is youll get maybe 2 summers worth of use out of them lol. Good luck finding something to hold the power! 305/30/19 RE-11 here hook nice 2 gear from a 40 mph roll in warm weather.
