Holy Pictures..... I need to read this when I get back from class!!

Hmmm... it does look like a pair of headers would fit in there from those pics. The only thing that might be tight would be the intake filter...Which I guess could melt?

Great up Sam.

kosstick 09-12-2011 07:46 AM

Sam,

How long does it take before the pulley starts to do damage to an engine (on average) ? Ive had a underdrive pulley for about 10k miles and from your post I am already itching to throw it out.

fuct 09-12-2011 09:34 AM

that filter placement is the only questionable thing to me.

Really the pulley thing needs its own thread, or one of the existing ones, or it will take over this thread in the end heh. It's been debated endlessly in the past. GTM is showing clear evidence of the problem with removing the aluminum pulleys, and that does kinda suck.

I'm more interested in the whole "NVH" vs "real balancer" side of the debate. If the rubber ring on our crank pulley is truly balancing the engine rather than just reducing NVH for aesthetic purposes, then a few vendors have a lot of potential engine damage to answer for...

Great information and numbers the VQ37 community has waited for this for a long time. Project G42 has the potential to be a beast. Sam, you still have to crack VVEL, then you will be a complete Z and G miracle worker.

Congrats Sam on finishing up that kit.

NYBladeZ 09-12-2011 10:02 AM

I know how to figure out the TT or SC purchase dilemma, take Phunk's TT Z and one of Sam's tuned s/c monsters and see how they measure up to each other :)

If you can swing it, I'd say go for it!

gabe3d 09-12-2011 10:56 AM

Thanks for the very complete press release. That stroked g37 should be something special, when do you plan to have that completed?

I can lol, but I don't to destroy my 7at and I gotta get this ******* Underdrive pulley off asap man got me paranoid :ugh2:.

But I will most likely pull this trigger. IF I want to go at a lower PSI do i need to use a different pulley or can they do that with the uprev/ecu?

For instance if i only want to make 400 WHP initially until I build up my Transmission.
