When any shop no matter who it is releases a kit for a certain price $X yet there are mandatory upgrades required costing $Y which are not inlcuded within the kit, it almost seems to me to be either false or misleading advertising in order to claim a low price on their kit.

Granted there are experienced people out there who would prefer to source their own upgrades. But for the average "Joe", why not just be up front and honest about the whole thing and provide an all encompassing price of $Z ($X + $Y)?

Again this is directed at all suppliers.

Because of your own answer: People want to source their own parts on certain upgrades. GTM and Stillen both provide a full kits but if they throw in oil coolers, clutch, gauges, etc. it will up the price but then people would complain why do they have to get X part with the kit and if they do not can they get a lower price.

You can always go back to a time when you pieced an entire kit yourself, intercooler, turbos, custom piping, etc.

On a separate note, apart from the turn-key kit, oil cooler, A/T trans cooler and upgrade, what else would you need to have the Stg 1 kit installed on a BONE STOCK 2010 370Z (80% DD, 20% Circuit Track)? I heard that stock exhaust and cats are actually good for the hp, Sam mentioned that it has something to do with some back pressure and it's good for S/C. What about gauges? Are they even required?
I would like to know about the gauges as well

Gauges will never hurt. Think of it like insurance. But you will need to know what they are telling you. If you have no idea what a proper AFR is then it will just be for show.

At the least you will want a boost gauge.

The more gauges the better!

Much better information than the stock gauges

Oil pressure, Oil temp, Water temp, Fuel pressure

Vacuum/boost, Egt, O2 sensor

The press release is coming soon, I'd want to tell you for sure it's Saturday, but you never know how things go. My car is the first G37 so not a 370Z but similar and it's a 6MT not AT...I have a new clutch, oil cooler, the SC, meth, coilovers, alignment kit, and a new exhaust system fabricated by GTM but using a different axle back. I know several people who have done the same or almost the same thing as me.

You don't NEED an oil cooler or meth, they are just good things to have when you go FI, some would argue the oil cooler is necessary and I wouldn't argue against it, but it's not a NEED. You can get away with just the SC system itself, but when you start spending that kind of money, it seems like such a terrible idea to not spend a little more to play it safe. I live in Texas...so the oil cooler is a bigger deal than for maybe someone who lives in Canada.

As far as gauges are concerned, those are definitely not NEEDS or required. It's more a matter of nice-to-haves. Obviously if you are going to track the car, this kind of information is a little more critical than for most who will just want more power and use it for a daily driver and not a track car at all.

I originally was going to get the Camp II system installed but decided not to and just save the money for something else. I also considered the traction control system from GTM but again...money and need changed my mind.

Does anyone have pics of Camp II working in 370Z?

Regarding the issue of oil cooling with this kit, there's a debate on my journal that you guys can follow regarding using a water-oil cooler instead of air-oil... I have an aftermarket radiator and am going to use air-oil laminar flow only with no air-oil core... not perfectly applicable to street cars with stock radiator, but still if we can get that to work on my car in track / time trial environment, will be a data point for those that want to consider a different approach vs hanging an air-oil cooler off the front of the car... should have results in October
