Default How long to get/install the kits?

Well the time is nearing and I'm about ready to order a stage 2 turbo kit and just wanted some to chime in on the process time. My car is my daily driver so down time means A LOT!

How long did it take from the time you ordered the kit to the time it was delivered? A few days/weeks/months?

How long does it typically take a shop to install the entire kit? A week? 2 weeks?

Thanks.

I know I could sort through 5756484 threads and maybe get answers but this will be easier for everyone to find.

3-6 days depending on the shops experience level.

If a shop has everything they need and you are next in line, drop off the car on Monday you should have it by the end of the weekend at the latest.
About 2-3 days for install and another 2-3 days for tuning, any 'extra' items might add a little time.

That's not nearly as bad as I thought it would be.

The main thing is getting everything setup before hand, will make it go easier.

I ordered mine directly from GTM on 3/31/11 and got it on 4/30/11.

I did my own install in my garage and it took me about 75 hours total. But that's by someone who has never installed one before and without removing the engine.

I wouldn't have even tried it if I didn't have my Saturn.

Wow. I'd love to install it myself even if it took me a week but not sure I have all the tools and I definitely can't drop the engine out.

And ok, it took a month to come in. So that's what I was figuring.

acually from what I understand its fairly easy to drop the engine compared to the rest of the zs. Im pretty mechanicaly inclined but theres no way id attempt this on my 370. Id try a rear mount but not a gtm. especially if its your only car to drive. if it was my little project car like my 350 was then id attempt it. But thats just me. But yea a month seams to be the magic number on order to receiving it. Im thinking a week install at a professional place.

It's not as hard as it seems. I didn't have to buy any special tools except for the three taps that are needed.

Sure, there were times that I wanted to rip my hair out but that happens whenever I work on cars.

Yeah, the instructions are good. Also Sam is very good making sure that you have all the support you need. Throughout the process he was always there to answer any question I had. Big or small.

I made a thread during the install: GTM Stage I TT Build - Shadetree Style
