Stage 2 GTM had any body got it yet ?

Nah, if I did anything I'd get it jet hot coated...plus I don't have more than a few feet of intercooler piping so I don't care that its a little

I do not believe it is 'paint' it is a thermal coating.

Coating typically helps to keep heat in or out of the pipes, but I cannot see it increasing the heat dissipation of an IC unless somehow it adds significant surface area. If anything I see it being worse because you want a very conductive material in your heat exchanger and most coatings are insulative. The other problem with a black IC is that it will start to get rock chips and look like crap after a while.

The thermal dissipating coating used on radiators for decades is what we apply to the intercooler. It increases the "black body" radiation profile of the heat exchanger.

For those that aren't familiar with heat transfer, there are three main types of heat transfer: convection, conduction, and radiation. The coating used increases the radiation type of heat transfer without significantly reducing the other two types.

Nice! How does it hold up to road debris?

About as well as the paint on the front of your car.

If I were concerned about the car looking factory fresh 10 years after buying it, I'd do a few things to help, such as a mesh grill in black, and 3M clear bra on the front end of the car. But, if I'm looking for max performance and looks are secondary, I wouldn't even worry about it.

Correct! The first is used in cooking, the second in disipating music by an orchestra and the third is used in certain Japanese power plants. Remember, all your science-type questions can be answered here at the370Z.com
