100k = pushing it to beat barrel-scraping supercars
300k= enough to beat most "average" supercars |
^^ thanks. What I've been trying to say all along.

Geez, you're really starting to get annoying. You couldn't just leave it at that? You just said that 300k = beating most average supercars.
Since this whole argument is hypothetical, 100k was a ballpark estimate. I didn't sit down and take the time to calculate exactly how much it would cost, because it doesn't matter, I don't have 100k to spend on a car at this point. The point of the matter is, you can spend an amount of money (regardless what that amount is) and compete with or beat a good amount of supercars with the Z, as you just said. Now please leave it alone, this is getting pointless and frustrating. You're agreeing with my argument, but then picking a few words out of an earlier post and mocking it. No matter how you cut and slice it, the fact remains: you CAN make the Z beat supercars, if money is no object. Maybe not all of them, but you can still beat supercars. That's what I've been saying from the beginning, and that still holds true. |
Yes. That is also what I said that you disagreed with.
You claimed 100k would be enough to beat "a bunch" of supercars, which isn't even what this thread is about.... |

You guys just keep arguing the same point :icon17:
First of all, the definition of supercar is subjective in the first place and different to each person. Then classifying what car is or is not a supercar adds another level of personal opinion into it. In the end though, they're all just opinions so they don't matter :p Obviously you can dump a ton of money into any car and have it beat a "supercar" at certain things (drag strip, road course, etc). I think what Red was trying to say before is that "supercars" which are built as supercars have gone through the R&D to make them not just good in one aspect, but all aspects including looks, exclusivity, drivability, comfort, quality, reliability, etc. IMO those things are part of what makes a supercar a supercar. Like someone else said, you can put 1000 hp onto a civic, but I would never call it a supercar because it's still a civic. I would consider a Z with SC/TT a high performance sports car, but not a supercar. |
+1, completely agree. I don't think a Z will ever be a supercar, my argument was that you could make it outperform some cars that are considered supercars.
People have different opinions sometimes. |
