GTM Stage 2 Supercharger Preliminary Testing Results

After months and months of tweaking, designing, we are finally able to throw our stage 2 test car on the dyno to get some results. Keep in mind our intention here is to find what the supercharger's capability is. We were very pleased to find that the unit, although larger in size, was able to keep a nice flat torque curve with better top end power.

We feel this result can give us a very accurate indication of how well the head unit is reacting since we are using the same car, same gas, same pulley. We are still not done testing the supercharger and our multiple intake designs that have been on and off many times to optimize the setup.

Here are the changes we made differentiates the two stages:

1) Urethane Engine Mounts to gain room for the bigger compressor housing which vastly improved engine response by getting rid of the mushy stock mounts.
2) New Intake Design
3) New Compressor Housing design
4) New Supercharger Outlet Piping
5) 3" MAF housings

The results you see are fresh off the press this morning's dyno pulls. After the dyno sessions, the vehicle was off the dyno and the supercharger is coming off the car for the 100th damn time.

05-20-2011 UPDATE

After literally installing and uninstalling the supercharger about 10 times this week, countless pulley changes with different intake and tunes combination, We are happy to report that the hard work had finally paid off with some extraordinary results.

Here is some New dyno results

07-07-2011 UPDATE

Here are some new dyno sheets from a 370Z Stage 2 Supercharger with the following mods: test pipes, cat-back and our 8psi pulley.

As you can see, it's pretty beast!

A little Teaser video

Awesome results Sam, great power at 10psi. Are you planning on selling those stiffer motor mounts separately?

Yes we will, they will make a nice upgrade on their own, of course they are not for everyone.

Sam

DarkZide 05-16-2011 05:09 PM

Nice! Looks like ill be going stage 2

Mr&Mrs 05-16-2011 05:12 PM

Very nice in for updates.

XwChriswX 05-16-2011 05:14 PM

Sam, how are you thinking this will work with LTH/CBE?

Possible to tag 500whp?

Not sure about 500 to the wheels, but the car that we are testing with right now has been one of the lowest power cars we've tested. Also, we are planning on testing with cat-back, test pipes, and EQUAL Length headers. ;)

Stay tuned.

Z eliminator 05-16-2011 05:51 PM

I see the Z Eliminator going low 11's in the 1/4 mile.
500 rwhp = 10.9
The long wait was worth it.
Congratulations Sam.
470= 11.29 to 11.38.

Awesome SAM. I am going to touch base with Zerolift again and talk to Mike about going with this instead of the TT. This kit w/ LTHs is what I wanted all along anyway. You are my hero!

Mr.Squeeze 05-16-2011 05:59 PM

Very impressive results are you guys going to use a smaller pulley with this set up?

We are at the maximum pulley size right now and the size bigger then that only made few horses less.

We don't need smaller pulley, We need less overlap .

Sam

Z eliminator 05-16-2011 06:21 PM

Just wait till i give it some good Canadian cold fresh air and some good Canadian 94 octane gas.
Now we add your new intake manifold and we could see some major RWHP
add the VVEL control
and you will the GTM trackion control
Yes my friends the Z's 370 z is going to be a screamer.

VVEL control

That would be the icing on the cake. Sounds delicious............

leighspped 05-16-2011 07:43 PM

Sounds tasty can't wait to hear how it works with LTH

I will be purchasing this in the near future :)

NewYorkJon34 05-16-2011 09:09 PM

Sam, the dyno numbers are amazing. Is reliability going to be an issue for those of us that daily drive our Z's?

:iagree: biggest factor for me...

is stg 1 or stg 2 any more or less reliable? given if i shot for the same 415whp with either kit?

tomnavone 05-16-2011 09:21 PM

Great results Sam:tup: Any vvel control updates? Will u be releasing it soon?

So much awesome, great work on getting the kit done as this is the best news I have seen yet! Time to get serious about building up the car mod piggy bank. :tiphat:

How much work is it to install the new poly engine mounts?

So I'm guessing these results were from dixon's car. Was the FX37 used in the 370z's kit development, also were there 2 oil coolers in that vid?

sojirovskensi 05-16-2011 10:29 PM

Will this SC2 kit be required to change any stock material besides adding an oil cooler?

b1adesofcha0s 05-16-2011 10:33 PM

Congrats on the results. Good job guys!

A new clutch

Nixlimited 05-16-2011 10:41 PM

Congrats on the results Sam! 450WHP is what I wanted out of the S/C kit and now it looks like there is a clear path to get there. That TQ curve is phenomenal.

definitionxmk 05-17-2011 12:20 AM

Just when I was going to give up on the stage 2... This happens :)

dwntwnall4u 05-17-2011 12:55 AM

Are the dyno charts from the stage1 at 8lbs of boost?

They allow for the engine to move less when the engine tries to twist itself on the motor mounts due to urethane being a harder material. It will allow for slightly better engine response as there is no movement allowed when compared to the softer and thicker rubber stock mounts.

Does anyone know how big of a job is it to install new motor mounts?

NewYorkJon34 05-17-2011 09:58 AM

Prob not that hard since it'll be put in at the same time as the stage.2 kit

Alberto 05-17-2011 10:02 AM

How about a stage 1 @ 10psi if possible or a Stage 2 at 8psi to compare apples to apples...the way you have this comparison laid out doesn't make sense.
