I went to the speed shop that race's 9.9 mustangs and they did the math on my car .
current 12.4 with 309 rwhp = 12.42's with 1.85 60 ft time's
500 rwhp on my car will do 11.4 or may be 11.3's.
racing a stock 09 or 10 GTR will eat him alive.
I have the GTM torque converter and it took my car from 12.85 to 12.42's. and i can not hold it past 1900 rpm.
Im getting more work done to it over the winter and im going to get the stall raised to 3500 to 3700 rpm. This will make a big difference and should get me into the low 1.72 60 ft times. This will take me into the 11.2 . or better.
Curently my tranney shifts at .031 to .033 for the first 4 gears. Just wait till i put the GTM Vb on it.
4 to 5th takes .061 of a second. If sam can get that time lower it will make a big difference.
currently tuned by Cobb, with the uprev we can ajust the line preasures and it should shift even quicker.
Now if my kit ever gets here, i can start to installe it.
You guys need to ask Sam about my N/A car and he can not wait to see what mine will do with his SC.
Im also worried about the axiles.
Not sure if they can take the abuse of 500 rwhp at the track.

Z

Sam please get the man his SC now! We've been hearing this stuff since feb 16!

chuckd05 08-12-2011 08:47 PM

Z, not trying to be a dlck, but why didnt you get a 6m? Wouldnt of been easier/cheaper to go faster? If your tranny ever goes they are far from cheap from nissan

and I second this... he could be a good advertisement piece for Sam as well, because you know everyone will know his success stories, lol :bowrofl:

you know we're just messing with you Z... its nice to see people so dedicated to getting the Z down the strip quick.. not many of us left...

ND370z 08-13-2011 12:25 PM

Oh man cant wait

Z eliminator 08-13-2011 07:25 PM

If you buy a new GTR in the USA they really stick it to you for duty's and customs at the border,
the price of the GTR is with Tax in.
Ok here is the truth, i get the 7 AT because i can not drive a stick.
I can drag race my Z, but i can not drive for beans on a road course.
I never speed on the highway or see what the car can handle like.
Its not me
but at the 1/4 mile , now thats a different ball game.

Z eliminator 08-13-2011 07:26 PM

Yes sam please ship me my stage 2 with all the toys.

Z.

frostyrock7c 08-14-2011 02:36 PM

Sam... in regards to the air filter location, will it be "protected" by any of the OE underpanels or something of that nature? Just curious about any rain based drivability concerns... it rains a lot here in the summer :shakes head:

Jamaica 08-18-2011 09:19 AM

You guys are in for a treat!

SharpByCoop 08-18-2011 07:55 PM

Z eliminator, I'm loving your willingness to take it to the drag strip. I'm wishing for your success, too.

Has anyone taken a supercharged Z or G to the drag strip? I've never read any posts.

If i order a Stage 2 s/c.... What's a realistic date that i will actually have it? There is no way i could ever pay for something and wait months to receive it... i'd go insane.

Nice going! 121 is impressive. I'd love to ride in a S/C model to feel the differences.

Good stuff.

I hope we can get some 1/4 mile numbers from this kit soon too :)

Z eliminator 08-19-2011 12:42 PM

To be fair to GTM, He did offer me a stage 1 kit last year. But i wanted the stage 2.
He did not get the SC from europe till the end of Dec 2010. It took a while for them to ship them to him. When he got them the SC were bigger than the stage 1 and he had to redesign most of the piping and intake piping for the filters.
It looks like mine will be the first 7 AT stage 2 and he has hit a small problem with the tranny cooling lines. This is being resolved now and the good thing is that he will have a tune for a 7 AT car. He is installing one now.
It take time to get it right as he had to make new mounts for the car and a lot of R&D went into the kit.
I have endless paitiance as im sure that when i get the SC it will install perfectly and make great power @11 lbs boost. I also got the meth kit for it with the stealth intercooler and piping.
It just means that i get a few more try's at try ing to get close to J nauts 12.24 1/4 mile run with my N/A set up.
I hope to have it soon so that i can run it at the track before they close at the end of OCT.
And yes it gets frustrating and painfully waiting for it as its paid in full.

The tranny cooler is a must. My car is the testing car for the A7. Sam will have my car all next week to get some more testing done. Good thing He can fix the issues now before its shipped out.

b1adesofcha0s 08-19-2011 01:02 PM

I believe Jamaica@UAM is the first 7AT to have the Stage 2 SC installed.

Guess you're faster than me now that you have that SC. :bowrofl:

definitionxmk 08-19-2011 07:21 PM

Aloha!

So, I just picked up my Stage 2 370 and here are my first impressions:

1. Turned the engine on and you can tell that it isn't "stock". I was surprised that the car wasn't OVERLY loud. Especially while I am running the GTM Resonated Test Pipes and Invidia Exhaust. So yeah, it's not that loud during ignition. But still it sounds great!

2. I took it out of the shipping yards and onto the streets with no issues. Already turned some heads but probably for different reasons (yellow paint?) I took it easy on the streets as I didn't want to get pulled over right when I got the car... it was very responsive.

3. Getting onto the highway, I floored it to see how quickly it accelerates... it was fast. In fact, it was so fast that I didn't know I was going past 100 already in just a matter of seconds. I didn't gun it for too long though... but yeah, it's fast. And you can hear the bypass valve clearly =)

4. GTM also installed my multiguage setup. It's pretty cool. I just don't know how to use it. And by that, I mean the little controller that is attached to it. Plus I still have to install an additional sensor. I'll get into it more when I get off work...

5. Upon arrival to my home here in Hawaii, I opened the hood to see the installation. Looks super clean and appears to only have a CAI (Like most photos). Stealthy look as usual but the sound of the car is what amazes people. I can see the motor mounts on the bottom and they look great. Sadly, normal people won't know they are there unless they know what they are looking for.
The intercooler looks awesome. You can see it from far away too. It's not excessively large but just enough to cover the entire gap of the front end. And since it is behind the "fins", it still gives it that stealthy look but all that power behind it.

So yeah, my first impressions. All 30 minutes with the car before I had to goto work again =(

I'll have some videos and photos up by tonight (Hawaii time) when I get home.

christian370z 08-19-2011 07:31 PM

Awesome review definition, congrats on a successful FI build! The problem with your review though is that it makes me have an even more unhealthy fascination with the stage 2 SC kit....

travisjb 08-19-2011 07:57 PM

thanks for the update, video dude

SPOHN 08-19-2011 08:35 PM

Great review and I imagine great feel also. Yea usually when you go FI it quiets it a little or a lot in some cases like my 350 did.

Hey dude, you're on Oahu right? Any chance you come out on car cruises at all? I'd love to check out your car if you ever come out, it looks pretty sick and sounds undoubtedly fast! I'm the guy in the gray 37 on black Volk wheels if you ever make it out, I should be on the cruise tonight.

Ive taken this car out for a mild spin and I have to say it is absolutely intoxicating. I could only wish there were some way to make it work/fit with the LTH... but supposedly it wont. My thought on that matter has something to do with the new motor mounts and steering knuckle.

Just driving around it doesnt feel different at all really. Still the same smooth feeling with no abrupt power surges or anything. Stop & Go or otherwise and it felt fine. I monitored the intercooler inlet and outlet temps while driving and was surpirised how well the intercooler kept the intake temps normalized. Even in stop and go traffic the temps didnt change dramatically. I also noticed the oil temps remained in the sweet spot of ~200.

When giving it some gas, I would smoothly accelerate... quite quickly might I add. I did no 1st gear pulls or any crazy shifting out of respect of the owner, but I will say that from 2nd to 3rd you will spin uncontrolably if you have anything less than sticky 305's in the back. Thankfully, he has hankook ventus evo V12's all around and 305's in the rear, which gave plenty of bite. There was still spin, but it was very manageable.

All in all, I love his car. Im seriously debating selling my bike in favor of modding my car more. I love riding my bike... but realistically I dont do it too often. My car on the otherhand, is a DD, and I love it. But its not SCd!

Quoted from GTM website

All of our Supercharger kits are available in two forms. The tuner kit form, so the professional and the end user have the flexibility of choosing what ever fuel and engine management they may desire and feel comfortable using. The second option being a complete kit including fuel and engine management solutions. With that being said, GTM will also offer an extensive range of fuel system and engine management modules to go with our Supercharger kits.

Is it possible to say the price increase now that prices are posted?

And does this mean that we'll have the full press release out soon? Or is that still in the works?

Still wanna see justification that these don't work with LTHs other than just comments.
