I hope it's different with SC Stage 2 since a lot of active members ordered this kit

I plan to take it to at least one track just to get some data for what it can do, but I by no means plan to make it a hobby to go to the track all the time. I promise once I've had a chance to go I'll post some data.

travisjb 08-10-2011 07:59 PM

you know mine will be at the track :)

I've been waiting 3 long months to take mine to the track...and it's killing me. If I don't run similar times to a Stage 2 GTM SC kit, I'll be disappointed.

How do you guys expect a lot of heat issues with this kit as a track car? And with what cars do you guys think you're going to compete with in the track?
It's lighter than the GT-R do you guys think with that kind of power it can overtake cars like the GT-R, GT2, ZR1...ext

It will take more than just power to play with that level of cars.
Those three you listed have a bit more suspension and track oriented pieces which are above the stock 370z. A supercharger is a good step along with suspension & brakes will help.

I'm watching for your results to see whether I stick with the platform.

I hate to predict timing on such things, b/c we all know how that usually goes!... but my goal right now is to have the system installed and tuned for NASA TTS in September and get some events going in October+... should have some pretty definitive things to say about this kit for track use later in the year... Very likely that HP Logic will be doing both the install and tuning... will run a 100mm pulley and try to tune for flattest possible 380whp curve...

NYBladeZ 08-11-2011 03:22 PM

I 2nd that notion...between travis and zeliminator I'll decide which way to take the car. I prefer an sc, you don't want to deal with the gobs of torque coming in all of a sudden as the deal is with TT's

NYBladeZ 08-11-2011 03:23 PM

what torque goals do you have in mind?

travisjb 08-11-2011 04:19 PM

haven't even thought about it to be honest... my classing is based only on peak whp, so as you might imagine, I'm trying to figure out all the tricks I can play to get max power under curve

Travis

After looking at your mod list, we need to rethink your pulley option sense you have a underdive pulley on your car witch is counter productive with the SC system. So the 100 mm pulley may not be the best option.

Sam

Working on the press release, should have that done by the weekend, shipping the stage 2 will start next week, stay tuned.

Here is some teaser pics for now.

Single air filter vs Dual?

Nice I want one!

Only one compressor so no need for a second air filter.

Yes sir I realize that but a track car will mostly have those mods before the SC

travisjb 08-11-2011 05:59 PM

Okay, thanks for the heads up, Sam.

I still have the OEM pulley... what do you think about throwing that back on the car and then running the 100mm?

PM or reply here is fine.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I remember the stg 1 having two on the passenger side.

Stage I does have twin filters, Stage II has a single filter mounted behind the compressor.

I wouldn't mind seeing a reasoning/ or numbers to back up the different placement. Not to deny the reasoning, but just because I like gee-whiz stuff like that.

Too bad the Stage 2 won't work with the LTH's though. :(

I'm with you in regards to the single filter.

I think I remember reading that it had something to do with the size of the new compressor but I'm not certain and don't feel like scanning 30 or so pages for confirmation right now :icon17:

Ah, that would be awesome. Gives me time to see what sort of results you get right about the time I'll be looking for more power:roflpuke2:

I'm excited to finally see how FI works for the Z on track. It seems like the user base here doesn't have much interest in track performance:shakes head:

There is no doubt in my my mind that mine will be the quickist Stage 2 in the !/4 mile.
I went to the speed shop that race's 9.9 mustangs and they did the math on my car .
current 12.4 with 309 rwhp = 12.42's with 1.85 60 ft time's
500 rwhp on my car will do 11.4 or may be 11.3's.
racing a stock 09 or 10 GTR will eat him alive.
I have the GTM torque converter and it took my car from 12.85 to 12.42's. and i can not hold it past 1900 rpm.
Im getting more work done to it over the winter and im going to get the stall raised to 3500 to 3700 rpm. This will make a big difference and should get me into the low 1.72 60 ft times. This will take me into the 11.2 . or better.
Curently my tranney shifts at .031 to .033 for the first 4 gears. Just wait till i put the GTM Vb on it.
4 to 5th takes .061 of a second. If sam can get that time lower it will make a big difference.
currently tuned by Cobb, with the uprev we can ajust the line preasures and it should shift even quicker.
Now if my kit ever gets here, i can start to installe it.
You guys need to ask Sam about my N/A car and he can not wait to see what mine will do with his SC.
Im also worried about the axiles.
Not sure if they can take the abuse of 500 rwhp at the track.

Your lucky I don't live in Chicago, dont have a TT, don't have Cocoa Pebbles at home, and don't have the same maiden name...because otherwise you'd be in trouble!!

I think everyone knows by know how fast and awesome you believe you car will be once you get your super charger. Stock 09-11 GTR's without launch control won't know what hit them!

But for a little bit more money than he has put into his 370, he could have probably gotten a 2012 and spanked ***!

Z eliminator 08-12-2011 08:27 PM

They cost S 121,000.00 up here for a 2012 GTR.
My dealer is giving me a great deal to trade up to a 2012. 370 z.
Have they been released Yet ?
can some body let me know ?

2012s are out yes... Smithtown Nissan by my house has a black edition... its yummy

NewYorkJon34 08-12-2011 08:35 PM

$121,000? way over priced, even tho I know you pay more up there. Can't you just drive down to NY, buy it there for less & drive it back.
