Pistons, Rods, and head studs.
Hey everyone! I bought a stage 2 TT kit for my Z a few months ago, and I'm looking into upgrading some of the internals. Does anyone have an idea of the labor time would be for new pistons-rods and head studs? I'm assuming I'd have to replace my fuel pump/injectors along with that, correct?

Why would you buy a TT setup and not really have a clue of what's needed or what has to be done? If you have to ask, maybe you you need to rethink some things and do so searching. Not trying to be an a$$. Just doesn't add up.

Hey spohn, why would you waist your time posting something completely useless? You're implying everyone out there that wants to enjoy the fun of a forced induction car should go get a mechanics license first? Stop being a douche and try doing something helpful next time, or don't post.

Thanks nixlimited, I'll do that. I spoke to GTM about 3 weeks ago, And I was supposed to get a package/estimate, but haven't gotten an answer yet. I wanted to get an opinion from members on here before talking with the shop I usually deal with, because they tend to overcharge.

I have a fuel pump.. I was asking if I needed to upgrade it. I bought the turn-key kit from GTM. Now please don't clutter the rest of my post with your "constructive criticism", I'd like to get some useful advice.

He doesn't really need to know anything about turbo set ups if he has the money to do anything needed.

What fuel pump to you have now? What HP do you plan to run? This answer will determine what type of fuel system you'll need to run.

In that case (this is MO) I'd run complete return fuel system. GTM stage two kit seen here.
GTM Motorsports*::*FUEL SYSTEM*::*GTM STAGE 2 FUEL SYSTEM You also could go to this type of fuel pump which is a step up. http://www.forgedperformance.com/sto...e=0&featured=Y

Would be to turn up the boost. Not by much, but reaching for 600whp. I'm assuming im right around 530whp at 10-11 psi, so it wouldnt be too big of a jump I don't think, correct me if I'm wrong.

GTM got 611 WHP out of the fuel pump you currently got installed. If you look in the thread I made about building the block there is some good info in there. I have been waiting for a package price also from sam but no need to rush since this will be done the earliest in winter.

So in that case, I could potentially keep the same fuel system, and just replace pistons/connecting rods? I was told by another member that head studs were also required, can someone shed some light on this?
Assuming I'm not way off on this, I would think around 15psi would suffice to hit 600whp or darn close, too much for the injectors? |
