First run. Pump gas. No clue what power I'm making, but probably around 470 based on my trap. 12.1 @ 120mph with 2.0 60'.

b1adesofcha0s 10-01-2011 09:10 PM

Nice

VQStryker 10-01-2011 09:10 PM

100 octane 10psi tune...11's get to it:tup:

b1adesofcha0s 10-01-2011 09:14 PM

You finally beat my stock time! Even I haven't been able to do that with my mods :rofl2:

98intrigue 10-01-2011 09:39 PM

1.88 60' 11.85 @ 119mph. I'm going for the ET record. Still on pump gas.

tranceformer 10-01-2011 10:04 PM

awesome!! go for broke on the next run!

theDreamer 10-01-2011 10:11 PM

You have the MPH, just need to shave a bit more time off.

Nice times bro! Wish I could have made it up there. I heard you met a few of my buddies last night. I had to work today bright n early.

GambitX 10-02-2011 10:13 AM

its was a nice night lastnight at the track, over 200+ cars running and I believe Ryan got in 3 runs before I left and let me tell you guys its a sexy setup. Im now on the lookout for a drag radial setup :)

98intrigue 10-02-2011 10:44 AM

My runs were as follows:
On pump gas hitting 11.5-12.1 psi
1) launched around 3.5k rpms bogged and dead hooked 2.00 60' 12.13 @ 120.0mph
2) launched around 4.5k rpms bogged and dead hooked 1.88 60' 11.85 @ 119.6mph
3) launched around 5k rpms spun 1.99 60' 12.61 @ 118.3mph
I put in 3 gallons of 100 octane
4) turn the boost up and saw 13.1psi launched around 4.5k rpms and spun bad 2.10 60' 12.15 @ 119.9
The car started making a ticking noise. It sounds like it's coming from the top of the motor. A few people said it sounded like timing chain slap. They also said it's a common noise for the VQ. I'm not too familiar with engine noises, other than detonation. I figured it ran fine on the last run. I just put in race gas and temps were dropping. I wanted to run again.
5) did a big burnout. Then they stop the lane for a minute. Then I didn't have time to do another burnout. Turned the boost up again and saw 15.1psi. Launched around 4.5k and spun bad again. 2.08 60' 12.09 @ 121.7mph. Car felt like it was HAULING. I think it would have been good for a 11.6 @ 123mph, based on every .10 off the 60' is roughly .20 off the ET.

It was 1am and my friends were ready to leave. I wish I could have ran a few mores times. On the way home, I wanted to do a 15psi pull and let my passenger feel it. Did a 3rd gear pull...felt great! Hit 4th and something felt wrong. It wouldn't boost anymore. Car went into limp mode and I couldn't shift over 2500 rpms. With a 70mph speed limit most of the way home, I couldn't go over 60mph...made for a long ride home. It's acting the same way it did when I found out Lutz had cut 2 of my MAF wires. I'm hoping my wiring came undone...easy fix. I didn't solder them last time because it was too late when I figured out the problem and just wanted to go to bed. I'll hook up the Cipher later today and check the voltage.

Yeah, my friend got a video of my 11.85 run and my race gas run when I hit 15psi. Car trapped almost 122mph spinning with a horrible 60'.

Good to finally meet you, Mike. Car sounded nasty when you left.

tranceformer 10-02-2011 10:46 AM

post the 11.8 slip!

Ron 10-02-2011 10:48 AM

15 psi is way too much man.. Be careful. I hope the issue ur having is nothing major.

esfourteen 10-02-2011 11:01 AM

15psi? you are bold sir...

Footloose301 10-02-2011 11:11 AM

Yep Tristan has the red 7AT and Stephen has the white Nismo.

Are you going to be at the track next Saturday? The 8th...

I'll be at Halloween Horror Nights on the 7th and on the way home I was goin to hit the track if I can. I've never done a 1/4 before. Just a few passes on the 1/8th here.

I'll be at Festivals of Speed at the Ritz Carlton in Orlando next weekend. You should just go to that.

b1adesofcha0s 10-02-2011 11:27 AM

Hope everything is ok

98intrigue 10-02-2011 11:37 AM

Easier than I thought... One of the clamps on the intake pipe came off the pipe. Pretty sure that's why it's in limp mode. Phew...

Nice times bro! You are defiantly testing the waters with those boost levels.

On 11psi, the car made 506whp at Z1. Then we redid the intake piping, yada yada yada. With the base map Z1 sent me, who knows what power I'm making... but based on the 119mph trap speed, I'm probably around the 450-470whp range on 12psi. I hit 15psi with 100 octane in and the AFRs were still in the safe range and I only trapped 121mph. Now if I was running pump 15psi with close to 600whp...THEN I may be testing the waters :happydance:

Ron 10-02-2011 11:20 PM

I am not sure if this applies to the Z, but it is possible to detonate due to bad timing even when AFRs read ok.

GambitX 10-02-2011 11:33 PM

Ryan its time for you to go see this guy again

That's what I'm talkin bout! So cooling is good, boost pressure stable, and AFRs are safe? Maybe a dyno for giggles later on?

Footloose301 10-03-2011 05:13 AM

How are your vehicle temperatures since you installed our radiator?

elperuano 10-03-2011 10:36 PM

Wow, great (with major pain though) build.. I read every single page n it took forever but it was like a good book with twist n turns n the evil villian showing himself at the end. I really thought Lutz was taking care or you n doin you right but by the end the truth came out. So sorry to hear your troubles n all the problems u went thru... I felt so bad just reading about it I could only imagine how u felt. I would've prolly been weary when he said he mainly works on BMW n was uP for the challenge on a new platform. I'd prefer proven builders on this platform especially with the kind of money u were throwing at it. No one will prolly really know except you how much this truly cost you.. I'm just happy at the end you finally got it worked out n u did sumthin I don't think anyone else has done so far. Props to you on ur build n for thinkin outside the box. My previous g35 with a gt35r on 8 lbs of boost was a blaaaast to drive.. Spooled quick n screamed all the way to redline. Full boost at 3k Rpms.
Love to see this ride in person someday... Good luck with everything!

roplusbee 10-03-2011 11:41 PM

That was a hell of a run. You broke your shifter near the end? You gotta shake off those gremlins dude.......

Boost_lee 10-04-2011 12:10 AM

I think the Focus broke the shifter...man that focus looked pretty good.

Damn Ryan, car is looking dope. Car is running good!

jnaut 10-04-2011 07:30 AM

AWESOME WORK , ryan!!
