I bought my Precision intercooler, 25row Z1 oil cooler, Blitz boost controller, Innovate wideband, Apexi turbo timer, ACT 6 puck clutch, Fidanza flywheel, ZSpeed hd CSC, Deatchwerks 600cc injectors, Walbro fuel pump, Tial wastegate, and Tial bov on my own because I bargain hunted. I bought everything new, except for the gauges and injectors. I paid $3750. With Lutz Performance's "professional" job, they charged me $8074 for 15hrs of labor @ $105/hr, the Precision 6262 turbo, intercooler piping, stainless braided oil lines, downpipe, uppipe to the turbo, exhaust wrap, band clamp, oil filter, 6qts of oil, a gallon of coolant, and a $300 custom intake, another 6hrs of labor for my clutch install, 2 hrs for the gauges install, $100 in shop supplies, and sales tax. Plus another $500 for the 2 custom fans and install. Then i paid $450 for a new tune since i previosuly had the UpRev licesnce and tune. Then I paid $1375 in repair costs when I broke down in Georgia. This resulted in Lutz taking the labor charges off my bill from the custom fans installation -$250. This "helped" cover the $200 towing bill from when I broke down. :ugh2: These prices do not include the ACT 6 puck clutch, Fidanza flywheel, heavy duty CSC, 3" single exhaust, Innovate wideband, Blitz boost controller, or installation of these accessories. Lutz quoted me $1200 to build me a 3" exhaust with a HKS muffler. I paid $250 for the muffler and $675 for my friend to do the piping and install, coming to $925 for the same thing Lutz quoted me $1200 for. I also bought the CSF radiator to help coolant temps (not yet installed) and ordered a Magnaflow resonator to reduce rasp and a new band clamp since Lutz' installation is now leaking for the 2nd time. I think that's everything:wtf2: Quote:

Well, the track is rained out once again...and of course, it didn't rain a drop where I live and we saw the nicest temperatures we've seen since winter. :(

I may have something in the works for those who are interested in buying a kit :)

Hope we don't get rained out on the 29th. I want to see your car in action.

I'll make another thread once we have the prototype mocked up on the shop car as to not clutter this thread, but we're working on something to be released in early 2012. We're still in the process of finalizing the build, but we expect a tuner-type kit in the $6k range once released. So it'll be complete sans EMS and fuel. Turbo will most likely be a GT35R, yet to be finalized.

35r should be good, was actually talking to buddy of mine who builds custom turbo setups and he recommended a 35r if we ever do my car. If the option came for a proven out system i would def be interested !
|
A GT35R is way too small to run on a high flowing 3.7 L ... I ran one on my 3.0 L 6G72 with factory camshafts and still easily maxed out the turbo.
For a single turbo setup on the VHR, I would recommend a T4-framed turbo at the very least a 1.06 A/R hotside for a T03-framed turbo. The last thing you want is too much exhaust back pressure and a severe flow restriction at the turbo nozzle. If you want a GT35R package turbo for the VHR, I would go with an HTA turbo from Forced Performance; maybe their HTA GT3586R or even their 90 lb/min GT37R hybrid. |
Ryan were u able to get your turbo timer working? If so, care to share what you did?

I feel like I've just been kicked in the stomache...maybe it's the pasta I had for dinner? Haha. No, really... This week's weather is perfect for once with 0% chance of rain Thursday. I was all excited to take my car to Bradenton to finally see what it does in the quarter. My mom just called and said we are going out to dinner for my sister-in-law's bday Thursday. :shakes head:

Ohhh snap! Just checked Bradenton's schedule... They have a test and tune Saturday morning and a Runday Sunday on Sunday morning. If the weather holds up, I'll go Sunday!! Cars and Coffee is Saturday morning and then I'm going tailgating and to the Journey concert at night.

don't stop......... belieeeeeeevin'

So plan is Cars and Coffee from 7am-9am. Test and tune from 10am-2pm. Tailgate around 5 and Journey concert at 7. Sunday...we are adding the resonator to the exhaust, replacing the band clamp, and fixing my PS leak. I drove my first time to my new work today (18 miles each way). Good news is on my way home, outside temps read 104 degrees...The coolant light never budged and oil temps never went about 210 until I boosted it 2nd through 3rd and temps went to 225. The new, cute intercooler worked wonders on my cooling! Bad news... filled the PS reservoir before I left this morning. It was pretty much empty when I got home. No joke...maybe 1cm of fluid left in the reservoir. Not cool! Can't wait to fix it. Car should be 95% Sunday! Then I'll still contemplate installing the CSF radiator and Stance coilovers sitting in my garage and would like a fine tune...AFR is still too rich at cruise and a tad too lean sometimes at WOT. |

Why are you contemplate installing the CSF radiator? You have now so why not put it in? Send it to me and I'll pay it forward.

no more excuses, just take it to the track already!

here's some motivation since you seem to be lacking it ;)

Just finished quick detailing the car. Cars and Coffee from 7-9am and then I'll be posting my 1/4 mile times between 10am-2pm :driving:

Wow. Nice pic, but not sure it goes with this thread, lol.

Ryan call or text me with updates today! I will be living through you at work today =(
|
Anybody have guesses before he posts? I'll say 11.8 haha
|
Its a big window but im gonna say between 11.9 and a 12.2 because I know the track hes going to well, and it is not always preped well. Also we dont have any idea of what power the car is making unless I missed it. What I would like to see is an 11.5 or better!

Ryan you ever put in the csf radiator ? It's a nice addition. Have fun man at the track ! Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk |
12.5sec @ 117mph.:driving: Is my guess.
