The mpg system calculates the number of injector pulses x injector size versus number of miles traveled. You are using 600cc injectors now instead of the stock 380cc. You might be making less injector pulses but each pulse is 600cc. The mpg computer still thinks you are using 380cc injectors.

I get the same thing. Too bad it's not accurate.

I know, I was joking. It's just hard to catch my sarcasm over the Internet. I didn't know about how it calculates though so thanks for the info. But yeah when it says your getting 13mpg more then usual and my tanks runs to empty faster then usual it's safe to say it's incorrect lol.

Modme, do you know if you could change to computer to thinking it is running on 600cc injectors?

Jeffblue 05-24-2011 04:53 PM

even though they are false readings, he should show those MPG readings on those hypermiling forums just to see what they say.

My car was saying I was getting 38MPG on the cruise to the Dragon

On a side note I was getting 23~ish MPG on the cruise up and back from the dragon with my GTM supercharger using the old Miles/Gallons calculation...

I too am wondering if there is a way to change the parameter the fuel economy meter. I was hoping that maybe there would be a way in the Nav system as there seem to be a lot of parameters available in there when I was doing the backup camera install.

I too have the nav system so I think I'm going to run the HKS camp 2 software on there. I'm hoping there is some parameters in there I will be able to adjust to get proper gas mileage readings. As of right now, I have a twin turbo hybrid lol :)

The camp 2 will not adjust any OEM settings, you can probably set it up to do proper MPG though (I never have though so not sure).
Either the setting will be in our tuning software our we will have to alter the software for the screen on the left.

Thanks for the info dreamer! I could just do it the old fashion way with simple mathematics I guess lol
