Default Input from those who have SC their 370

Hey guys. I am not trying to start another useless thread so hopefully I get some good input from this. Currently I am overseas and I am already planning what to do with my Z but I am at a loss right now. At first I was going to go full bolt ons with a 100 wet shot. Just recently I changed my mind and decided to go F/I.

I want to hear from those who have S/C their Z. GTM/Stillen users. I will greatly appreciate your input on the pro's and con's.

My current Z only has drop in K&N air filters and a Stillen Underdrive Pulley

The modification that I am sure to add is a Boombop shop full catback exhaust.

I have to rework my list now that I am going to S/C it but I would like to know what parts have you replaced if any? i.e. injectors and fuel pump.
From what I read on the forum with the GTM setup you need to stay stock cats. Anybody proved that wrong?

My goal is to get at least 450 at the wheels. So please any and all input I will greatly appreciate it fellas.

Glad you did the right decision

IF you want "al least" 450 HP, I suggest you to wait few more month, and here is why

VVEL is not cracked yet, GTM SC Stage II is not out yet

Running berk hfc on gtm stage 1 sc. Only 1000 miles so far

Well I got a few months till I get home so I can wait some. Any clue as to when the new kit will come out? What have you seen for results on the Stage 1?

Well it did cross my mind. I talked to my buddy about it who is a pretty good guru on vehicles and fyi he will be installing whatever I plan to do on my vehicle. I asked him about it and did some research and I have come to the conclusion that going SC with my driving habits will better suit my vehicle as far as longevity goes. I know I know it is a hear say thing on that, if I pegged my car out everyday of course it will rag it out more. Not to mention bang for buck, that cost is lower and I do not plan to go balls out. I have a goal set for "now" so that is why I chose SC.

Care to comment on the subject?

You're going to get a lot of people telling you the GTM kit is better on this board. Lots of people had issues with the Stillen one for some reason or another. I had good luck with the Stillen and make 450whp(dynojet) all day long with 0 issues. Personally, I think that if you want 450whp on a mustang dyno, you're not going to get that from an SC kit...you want a TT.

I think I've essentially maxed out the stillen SC at 9psi. I guess I could go 10 psi and make like 465-470, but at the expense of safety...whats the point.

Now from your experience, which would you say would be suited for a daily driver? Or does that just depend on the driver? I am a private security contractor so when I come home I tend to drive up and down the east coast for a month visiting family and then I am gone again for a while.

My avatar is real, thats a single seater..just happens to be red and has a big wing like the current F1 cars. Its just a normal single seater...I have a video on youtube you can see me racing it on track...those things are fast...

You mean between turbo and sc? For daily driving it really makes no difference...honestly youre not going to push the car hard enough to where it becomes an issue. Turbo will give you lots of torque and power and at least the GTM TT, I know, drives very nicely when you're just cruising around. The SC does too, but the power delivery is more linear. The SC has much less torque and will strain the engine and drivetrain a lot less than the TT will. If you're thinking longevity, SC is the way to go...but since you're not tracking or driving it too often then you'd be perfectly fine with the TT.

The TT has greater power potential and will make more power at the same boost level that a sc would. The reason for that is the amount of flow and the lack of parasitic loss associated with driving the sc unit.

In other words...if you want a crazy animal with big hp, get the tt, but remember theres a bigger chance to break things. If you want linear, smooth power thats easier on the car, go sc. Both have their pros and cons.

Ya I am thinking more of longevity b/c eventually I will be in the states more b/c I can't do this job forever. Maybe I'll just buy another Z later down the road and TT it but for now I will stick with the SC. So what did you put down on a dyno and track times? I put down 455hp/335wtq on a Dynojet (same dyno that gtm and stillen use) and ~400whp/290wtq on a Mustang Dyno.

FYI I dynoed in at 256whp stock on that same Mustang Dyno...

I'm sure the GTM SC guys will chime in soon enough with their results.

Ya the Mustang Dyno's I hear are generally lower. I got 285 base from a dynojet

I have the GTM supercharger. I got 430whp/340tq. THere are people like RCZ that have had success with the stillen supercharger, but also some that have had problems. I would do more research on this very forum on the 2 and then ask more questions after you done a few days to weeks of reading on here, and be wary of questions b/c it can get out of hand quickly on here.

I previously had Stillen kit and switched to GTM kit recently

Stillen kit made 390ish (can't remember exactly)whp and 288tq
GTM kit made 395 and 345tq
Both on 91 octane.
