The conspiracy theorist in me says that someone at GTM, not the higher-ups, who had access to the order and these used parts pocketed the money from the order and shipped out this crap. Though that's largely doubtful because I'm sure when this was brought to their attention they checked their accounts. It's just so bizarre, but again, I can see greed playing a factor here. Someone could have been thinking "Who's gonna believe a random dude from Guam. We're GTM. Everyone trusts us."

EDIT: I just watched it again. Compare the pictures of the piping to all the pics on here that members take of their exhausts when they're unpacked and ready to install. The condition is so poor it's almost laughable. I helped remove a kit that had been on a vr6 GTI for 20k miles and it was in better condition than what this guy got from GTM.

Yeah I dont get it either. Even if they sent out a used kit packed poorly I couldnt see it looking THAT bad especially without the box being mangled. Some of the bends and dents in that stuff would take some serious force to do it almost looks like someone intentionaly took a sledge hammer to it.

I dropped my Gen 3 intake piping the other day(thin tubing) and it barely put a scratch in it.

Honestly, from that packaging and the welds and parts you recieved I have a very hard time believing that was a GTM product straight from GTM... Who did you order through? There are a lot of missing information as the video story is definitely one sided. I feel for the guy who bought the kit. And I can tell you the pics of the bubble wrapped items is how EVERYTHING straight from GTM ships... I have been to their shop and seen them package items for shipping. In NO WAY have I or any other person on this forum received something packaged like what you received straight from GTM!!! This makes me real suspect that A the boxes were open even though you said they werent. B The items were repackaged. C you bought a used kit from someone. I still have the boxes that GTM sent me and they were in such good care that I reuse them to ship other stuff!!!

This doesnt add up! Im not calling anyone out here I am just saying something isnt straight up with this whole ordeal. Knowing GTM and seeing their Operation first hand I can tell you your package was not their M.O. If you truely bought a package straight from GTM post up the receipt of your purchase with the paid invoice from GTM! You should have also received an inventory list as well in your kit...

Something is not right and I HIGHLY doubt it is GTM!

^^ I overlooked this as well. I assumed this was purchased directly through GTM, but their kits are sold on many websites. Now THOSE are the shadiest of the Shady.

Again though, even with a middle man, that does not change the "sh!t happens" and lack of followthrough. Technically, if the kit was purchased from a 3rd party, GTM isn't liable and doesn't really owe the end customer anything. However, what a responsible company does is work with the intermediate seller and make it right, or not allow them to sell their parts anymore. Again though, if that third party seller is making GTM lots of money on other stuff, that decision becomes harder. It's dollars and cents. Plain and simple.

Goddam time difference. I'm trying to leave work early to watch the AC Milan game today. But no matter which way you slice it, this has been a f'ed up transaction and GTM did not make it right the way they should have. And again, this is basic human nature and it happens in the business world all the time. They already have his $8000. He's now on the back burner. Hell, his kit could have had anthrax in it and they wouldn't care, especially if they have a showroom full of customers looking to drop thousands of dollars on parts and installation in their Cali shop. It's always about the next customer. His money is already in their pockets! Even if they did the right thing and sent him a brand new kit and ate the shipping charge they still wouldn't take a huge financial hit, and it's an investment in customer satisfaction. Look what happened to Stillen. They used to be untouchable for Nissan parts. Now, for whatever reason, their reputation is dwindling fast. Lack of attention to detail, fitment issues on parts, being drastically outperformed by competitors, etc. It all starts with that initial "I don't give a sh!t" attitude. Ask anyone who's been in business for a long time and has been successful. Their day to day lives are not fun. It's hard work making sure things run smoothly. It's hard work when you actually care about the customers. Not demonizing anyone, just telling it like it is.

Like I said this had to gone through someone else's hands before getting to the customer... GTM ought to have stock in Uline or bubble wrap because they use a ton of it! It took me an hour or two just to open my first turbo kit from them it was that well packaged! This went through someone else's hands between the customer and GTM!!!

GTM should start serial-stamping their pieces.

Then at the very least they should do the right thing and find out where the customer purchased it from and not allow that vendor to sell their parts anymore. If they f'ed up a turbo kit like this imagine what they can do to bolt-on parts or something fragile like injectors, headlamp ballasts, etc!!?

You do realize this would add to the costs of the kits and slow shipping times...

This really has me thinking... We have seen posts from time to time when GTM receives butchered TT kits from other shops and nearly have to start from scratch. What happens to that other banged-up kit? You could throw it out, or you could ship it with insurance out of the country and claim it for 8 grand. I'm not saying this is what happened, but i cant think of much other explanation. I doesn't look anything near the quality we have seen (and expect) from GTM. But I agree, it was most likely a worker. I highly doubt Sam or anyone high up knew about this. I could be way off, just spit-ballin.

I recently went to a family dinner at a very well known, high class (too high class for me) steak house with my family. This place takes 3-4 weeks to get a table, valet parking every day of the week, really overdone IMO. Bathroom attendant and everything. My stupid sister-in-law left her purse at the place and, even dumber, didn't realize until the next day. We called the restaurant, a customer turned it in. Debit and Credit cards were missing. Of course everyone blamed the bus boys, but it was turned in by a customer. The manager and owner basically said what Sam at GTM ALLEGEDLY said "sh!t happens". Why? Because as we were arguing with him he was looking down at a book of reservations that were packed for a month, along with waiting lists and people calling for more.

It's a business. People will get away with the absolute most they can until it really starts to effect their bottom line. See: BP, Toyota, GM, Madoff, etc. Unfortunately it seems, it's always too late.

Seems like they did purchase directly from GTM. 1) They were complaining that GTM's system would not allow refund after 60 days. 2) Shipping box has return address from GTM.
