I do know who I will go with if I ever do go the forced induction route and which exhaust I would buy if/when I get bored of mine. I'm not the most technical when it comes to turbos's exhaust, and motors and all that ****, though I do understand a lot. I have seen, that no matter what engine it is, with headers and superchargers, boost will drop. Now if you compare one car at the same psi with another and the latter has an LTH or full exhaust, it is a damn near guarantee that the car with the exhaust will put more power down per lbs of boost than the one that is stock. If I had it my way, I would find some way to get turbo's to work with my LTH's.... though I'm sure that will not happen.

It wouldnt work just saying.... they are long tube headers not turbo manifolds.....

DAN

Here is where I call the STS Turbo Kit, to the stand. :stirthepot:

They would still recommend the stock manifolds because the long tubes flow too much. Normally the less restrictive the better on a turbo that's under the hood. That's not the case for the rear mount turbo. That's why they use single 2 1/4" exhaust piping compared to a true dual 3" or even a single 3".

I don't know if it's necessarily an issue of flowing "too much." Turbos run off air flowing through them and the more air, the more force on the turbine blades, which then turn the compressor wheel. I think the reason you may see such small exhaust piping for the rear mount is to maintain the speed of the exhaust so that it imparts more energy on the turbine blades. As the exhaust diameter gets larger, there will be less back pressure, and the exhaust will slow down and spread out in the additional space. With a huge exhaust going to a rear mount turbo, I am guessing you would have a tough time spooling the turbo.

That's exactly what I was going with, but in a less detailed explanation.

This info is very relevant for people like me who are doing research before going FI.

What I get from this is: GTM SC stage 1 and Fast Intentions LTH are both great products but they won't work together because of back pressure issues. Would you agree?

I wonder if anyone has tried: GTM SC stage 1 + Stillen headers + Stillen high flow cats?
Just for the sake of knowing if the formula of Supercharger + free flow exhaust means more power than supercharger with full stock exhaust.

Replacing the exhaust manifolds on the 370 is a waste when going FI they flow very well and you can make very good power,I have stock cats and stock manifolds and making 516rwhp with a GTM stage 1.5 SC.
