Few thoughts on the matter . -Bottom end piston and rods. -Stock heads flow over 300 CFM so there will be no need to do any head work, just some valve spring will do. -You don't really need a standalone, stock ecu can do job -Your fuel system will have to be adjusted according to your power hunger, your current set up can support 550 WHP safely without any problem. We have made 611 RWHP on you exact fuel set up. The main factor here that we are starting with good advanced efficient engine out of the box . So it does not take much to make descent power, we just need to work on making it more suited for FI . Hope this helps Sam Last edited by SAM@GTM; 01-23-2011 at 02:33 PM. |

well I am more leaning towards making the engine safer for FI I know there is no failure reports yet but something that will give piece of mind. Also 600-650 to the wheels is fine for me. Not really doing this for the more power because my car is fast as hell now but if i was to do engine work i think it is just more beneficial to give your self some room to grow down the line. I am not a big racer. i like the occasinal 1/4 mile but really can't see me ever autocrossing. Any recomandations sam?

What are roughly the maintenance differences between running a 550rwhp car and a 700rwhp car? More common check for leaks? Things like axles and trans braking? Going through clutches?
p.s. driving it on the street, frequently beating on it.

Oh good more money to spend with Sam on a built motor. Why wait just get the stroker 4.5 L. (Sam do not put this on My Account ).
Once you get the traction Control you need to have a twin turbo 4.5 l to see how well the traction control work's Z

I live in NC and my buddy had some engine work done in VA. He has an STI but the shop was great. When we picked it up they gave us a full tour of the shop. The guys took the time to show us what they did and talked about future upgrades. It cost 8k for the work and it did not give him 1hp. What it did give him is peace of mind. He can now crank up the boost and not worry about it. I think that is what the thread is all about peace of mind. While I was there I asked what they could do for my car and they replyed what are my goals for the build. If you don't have goals they cant really help you. So if you want safe 600-700 hp then you tell them that and they will tell you what you need. I will call my buddy and pm you the info.
