Somehow I agree with you,

I don't really care if its 450whp or 500whp, I just need the god damn lame torque to be over 420wtq

For a supercharger on this car to have that much wtq you are going to need to be well over 500whp. There arent even many turbo guys with a 3.7 making that much wtq.

There's two different philosophies behind the two different stages. The stage 1 kit was intended for the ultimate performance enhancement without having to change anything on the car, meaning it will bolt up without any major modifications. As we all know, it is a very tight engine bay and putting the supercharger in the bottom was not the easiest way of doing things. It has been accomplished nonetheless and the kit is performing very well. So I wouldn't call that a compromise.

On the other hand, the stage 2 kit is going to be balls out and offer the best performance we can squeeze out of the c38-91 blower. With doing that, the stage 2 kit will be getting different motor mounts, different intake, intake piping, fuel system. It's designed for big power. I hope that makes sense.

Yep, this totally answers my questions, although now it changes my calculus a bit. Sounds like STG 2, with all its extras, will be quite a large price jump and quite a bit less stealth. I may have to manage with STG 1 and a mere ~400WHP. Hmmmm.

NewYorkJon34 04-29-2011 10:34 PM

You could order the stage 2 now for $6500 on the GTM site, it's just not finished yet

From what I have seen, you will definitely be at 400whp if not more with the stage 1 kit. However, I haven't seen anyone playing with methanol injection i.e. Aquamist/Snow Performance which can also give you a significant bump in power and torque if tuned properly.

SAM@GTM 04-30-2011 01:38 AM

Here is some pics of the stage 2 set up

As for stealthiness the stage 2 will remain as stealthy as the stage 1 sense all the different components that differentiate the two system wont be visible. Price is a different story and like somebody mention here, you could take advantage of the current price on the web site before it goes up.

Direct port water injection is going to be the ticket on the stage 2 sc set up .

MMMmmm thanks for the pics, im getting hungry!

Z eliminator 04-30-2011 06:15 AM

I see lots of RWHP. especially with that good cold canadian air that we have up here.
11.4's at the track in the 1/4 mile.
So Sam should you put that on my account now " direct port water injection "

Call me later tonight.

So when is the stg2 ready?

abgyak 04-30-2011 04:37 PM

Was just wondering, is this kit available for international buyers?

Yeah, I have been considering water injection for overhead protection and cooling. I don't think I want to mess around with Meth because, while very effective, it's a lot more work.

NewYorkJon34 05-01-2011 01:35 PM

Can deposits be made at the $6500 price & pay the rest when the kit is finished?

Sounds like someone is getting a SC system! Nice, congrats. Cheers to huge smiles every time you start the car from now on ;) ppssssstttt

NewYorkJon34 05-05-2011 10:15 PM

Hey JB, how much whp are you making? Car daily driver? And if so how reliable has everything been?

dixon cider 05-05-2011 10:20 PM

I will probably call Sam tomorrow to get an update, so follow my build thread for updates.

NewYorkJon34 05-05-2011 10:27 PM

Dixon, you ordered the stg.2 right?

dixon cider 05-05-2011 10:32 PM

I didn't actually order it per se. I am the test car for the stage 2. So, I will get it by offering my car to do their thing.

How do you become a test car? I am overseas so I wouldn't give my car up seeing as how I am gone all the time.

1slow370 05-06-2011 03:52 AM

luck of the draw, won't expect your car back for a while and asking

Right place at the right time. He has had the car since October though, so if you don't want to be without it, this wouldn't be for you.

christian370z 05-06-2011 12:51 PM

That's insane Dixon, I can't believe they have not even come close to finishing it yet either. :(

It's all good. I knew it would be a while. I just hope it's not too much longer. I don't want to rush him now, because I want it done right.

Or I could tell you when the testing is done......

Zat_Zuma 05-06-2011 04:23 PM

Doesn't matter anymore to me when it's done :stirthepot:

I bailed and decided to get the stage 1 so I could at least have a S/C for the summer. BUT that is just the plan for now ........ still no S/C in my garage waiting to be installed. 4 weeks and 4 days of waiting, so far.

I guess we are all waiting. At least it will be done right instead of rushed.

SAM@GTM 05-06-2011 07:26 PM

We should have some dyno # next week from the stage 2 kit, We have some different air boxes configuration that will be testing to get the most power out of the set up.

So we are almost there :happydance:

Thanks for the update Sam. You'll be hearing from me soon.

NewYorkJon34 05-06-2011 09:35 PM

Ya, the stg.2 is the goal for this car. I still owe alil on the car & I still have to buy the clutch. The temptation might take over tho & I could end up ordering it sooner then later. Either way though the stg.2 kit will be ordered this year.
