Turbos sound sweet from outside! Can you hear them in the cabin at all? Doesn't sound like it from the video.

Dreamer: Thanks. I had to quote your post to figure out how to insert the vid in my earlier post. Keep that alive on this page, please?
I appreciate it. Coop

Been a while since I've updated this thread. My thread over on myG37.com has been ongoing....
Short version: Bent rods and broke a ring land in above video. If the car is breaking up (listening from outside) that ain't good. Any number of things can produce this, none of them welcome. Removed engine, new 9:1 Wiseco pistons, new A1 rods, Full ARP studs and hardware, completely balanced lower end, reseated valves and seats, new cam controllers (ouch!), all assembled and back together. This happened from March-June. Car has 900 miles on it and is running sweet. Has not had a final tune to the new combo. In conversation with Sam at GTM and with Jimmy, we determined that the fuel needs were the next progression to ensure this won't implode. Ordered and rec'd a larger capacity Aeromotive pump, 750cc injectors, and the fuel rail return system. All from GTM. Below is where I'm at as I write: The car is now at The Shop, and here's what's getting done: The fuel pump pod has the new pump installed, along with the new AN fittings and lines. This is not a simple bolt-in. Some parts need to be modified. There is no one more careful than Hector for this kind of work. That's the old pump sitting alone. Under the hood is the ongoing installation of the machined fuel rails and return lines. Witness how he carefully masked off the intake, and didn't simply stuff rags into it. He's good. Props to GTM for the solid parts and for getting back to Jimmy and Hector with some install directions. One of two garage bays where The Shop does the work. Jimmy's 1200whp GTR is up on the right. Before the end of the Fall he is committed to an eight-second timecard. All the cars they work on are performance cars. Major props. I'm going on vacation this thursday for nine days. They will work on it without my badgering in the meanwhile. LOL! I've talked to the new tuner (Mike Botti) at length: Work on the low speed tune for utmost day-to-day response and driveability. Then, 550whp redline tune on local pump 93. That's PLENTY for day to day driving and fun. 650whp tune/boost on RACE FUEL for the track day. Figure out how to get there and replicate this. I'll want to go in Sept, when the temps cool a bit. I don't forecast tens at all. The torque converter will limit a hard launch. I DO suspect an 11.3 or 11.2 is attainable and sustainable. Time will tell. That said, this is my street car, and a reliable 550whp street ride has unmistakeable authority. Coop

Been a long time since I've updated THIS thread. I've been busy on MyG37.com, and view here often but haven't drawn this thread back to the top.
This following vid deserves your attention. This was this past week. The car has been running strong, since we built the lower end and added more boost (17lbs). Pump 93 oct. Wishing the car was lighter and didn't have a 45lb driveshaft. That, and my next goal will be installing 4.08 gears to use all FOUR gears instead of three and a half. Tens next season. 14 hundredths away. We can smell it. BTW: I packed the family in it and we drove quietly to our church this morning. That's right. It's a total OEM driver. LOL! Coop

Congratulations. Why is it so hard to get these cars in the 10s? You certainly have the power to get it done. I assume you are running drag radials?

I was asked about the brake light switch thing I point out in the captions on my vid.
I learned that the ECU will shut down the throttle if you try to apply throttle and brake at the same time. And it does. The workaround is simple: 1. There is a two-wire brake light switch under the dash on the brake pedal. 2. Remove the clip with the two wires, splice into ONE of them going into an ON/OFF two-pole switch and exiting back to the cut lead. My switch is in a little plastic bracket thing right over my right foot. (Radio Shack). The wires run about 12" to the switch and back. I used butt connectors. No amps at all. You NEED to have it on to start the car, and to get it out of Park. (Not sure of what it does for a standard gearbox). Once it's in gear, flip it OFF, and then you can power brake for the burnout and for the line. Your HAVE to remember to turn it back on. Safety issue, and you won't be able to restart or get it out of 'park'. This was a Public Service announcement. Coop

I learned that the hard way too. I kept trying to do a burnout at the dragstrip last time and was so irritated that I couldn't get it right. Low and behold, it was not me!
Switch is a great idea. I know you can also pull a fuse, but this sounds easier. Because I am 6MT, I do not think I would have the getting out of Park issue.

^^^ By doing this, you can still restart and shift your auto? If so, that's a new one on me. Never even tried.
