Although LM is now banned, it's a valid question. Every shop has the option to work with whatever dyno numbers and CF factors they wish. In the case of The Shop, Jimmy has used this correction factor for years. It coincides with what numbers stock Subaru STI's and WRX's were getting on other dynos.
My Subaru made 496whp on this dyno and ran 10.85 @ 128 with a good driver (No slicks, meth, open exhaust, seats removed, or nuthin' different!) This seems to be the ten-second break point on his dyno. In this case, I would LOVE to see a mid-high eleven second pass with this car, even though it has even more torque and whp. There is no way it will launch hard to go tens. Nor do I care. All I can tell you is it's VERY worthy power. I need to lose the exhaust, even if it loses 25whp. My wife won't ride in the car. She hates the drone @ 2100 and it's no fun dragging someone out for a spin who doesn't want to be there. Suggestions on a performance quiet 2.5"-3" exhaust? Coop

Did you have the exhaust or listened to it before getting the turbos installed? I have the Fast Intentions TDX with 12" resonators, and it drones in the same region as well. It was bad when I had the Berk HFCs, so I went back to stock. Now it's much bearable, so perhaps you can look into getting the TDX with 18" resonators (what I wanted from the start). I'm only suggesting TDX because it's what I have and tried, so there's not much to compare. What I can tell you is that my gf hated my car and says it sounds like a boat. She's much more tolerable of my car now with the stock cats.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have the GTM 'test pipes', and they are a good reason why it flows so well, makes great hp--and is so noisy. The entire exhaust is a series of flow through pipes with no chambers.
Jimmy can weld in a couple of extra resonators, which he did on his GTR for the same reason. I don't want to butcher the system. Coop

You know not to be a **** bu the 2nd tune we all got was a luxury and sam was not required to do so and none of us could be mad if he didn't. As long as the car is running safe and makin more power he is done the way i see it. You more then likely pissed him off with everything that went down. In other words you and your wife might have burned a very essential bridge on the VQ platform. Like I said not trying to be a **** but your wife went all out on this one and already stated you will not be doing business with him again. So why spend more time(which is money) on you. He fulfilled the order as promised

You know I can understand why sam is frustrated. He shipped new parts gave them compensation and all and yet there are new videos being posted with them slamming GTM everyone for the mOst part agreed the original parts being messed up but that sam corrected the situation and stood by it. Well after the install and everything sam was still there and new videos were poping up still. So I understand his frustration as him sitting there reading that going what more could I do. Only question is if they bought a tv from the store got home with it and found out it didn't work and the store replaced it would they still do the same **** to them.
Question though. Isn't it illegal to publicize phone conversations if the other party is unaware that it is being recorded? I think it Is but not sure and I know Mel Gibson got all the taps tossed out of court and his wife got in trouble for it. That question is out of curiosity. |

All of this is irrelevant to this thread. For me: Treat Sam and GTM correctly, even with problems, and he will take care of you. I learned this. Sorry for the sidebar. Coop

First time out - Atco Dragway
OK, so as promised, I took some time off from my work to get a few runs in.
As I figured nothing is going to be easy. I learned that the traction on the strip is still no match for two stock rear width street Potenza tires. This pass was my best and it just breaks loose, bangs off the rev limiter, goes soft, and then recovers.... YouTube - Infiniti G37 - drag strip - 12.34 et @ 117mph My next step is to get a set of drag radials and then try. It went 118mph on my last attempt. I used manual shifting. DS did not work well for me. (There was a fellow with an AMG Mercedes who was running 11.50's @ 122 with RWD and DOT street slicks. My hero! ) It ain't great, but it's a start. Long day: I left at 3pm, 3.5 hr drive, 3.5 hours to get in (3) passes, and a 2.5 hr drive home, arriving after midnight. I'm bushed. Coop
