How much power will the stock internals hold?

Hey guys, really considering supercharging the car within the next 7 months, how much power can SAFELY be ran on these engines without pushing any limits and hurting anything?

Hey guys, really considering supercharging the car within the next 7 months, how much power can SAFELY be ran on these engines without pushing any limits and hurting anything?

Really it is unknown, there have been a few G37 cars pushing above 500whp and around 10-12PSI. Anything below that will probably be safe, but you will have faster wear and tear on certain items. So the internals can handle it, but other items will break down faster.

A SC or a TT kit running 8PSI with the 3.7L has shown great results without punishing the engine in a bad way which gives the benefit of great power and some longevity to parts.

Awesome thanks for the input guys. I figure I'd be happy with anything over 400rwhp long as I could keep daily drivability easy and that should be enough to cut a low 12/high 11 with traction.

It seems like these engines take very well to boost as there are a number of 450rwhp+ VQ37 cars that have been running problem free for 50,000 miles or more. If you go the supercharger route, there is not really a current kit on the market that will push the envelope as far as the limits of the stock engine.

400-500whp is the super safe level, with a good tune and setup. Engine longevity is related to how hard the car is driven. But for a daily driven car I would not expect any issues.

Along these lines, has there been a documented failure of a FI VQ37 yet? I know this engine does not yet have much history with boost, but a few people's misfortunes usually ends up being how we all learn the limits of an engine.

Thats crazy cause my stock clutch is lasting well. You must be doing burn outs and super hard driving.
Edit: Let us know how you like the Zspeed CSC. Do you think it is going to hold up?
