^ It should hold up if they replaced the failing components with metallic ones...

Why do people like getting the OS Giken clutch for street cars? I don't get it, its a pain in the *** to drive with it in traffic.

^^^^ This is the reason I have not bought a clutch yet. I want a tougher setup but dont want to lose the joy of driving the car due to getting a massive leg work out in traffic.

What about exeddy??

The Giken is actually pretty easy to drive. It's not that much firmer than stock and you can slip it to set it going as it is a dampered set-up. It's easy to start, creep over speed bumps etc.. It's not like a super high clamping force single six puck thats all grab and go.

Thats crazy cause my stock clutch is lasting well. You must be doing burn outs and super hard driving.:driving:
Edit: Let us know how you like the Zspeed CSC. Do you think it is going to hold up?

I did put the car through it's paces, but don't beat on it by any means. It would even slip in 5th gear on the freeway if I floored it. Don't know if it matters much, but the G is quite a bit heavier as well and would strain it that much more. Regardless, the clutch was going to have to be replaced, and for the short time that I drove it, the Giken was a great alternative to stock that should last and hold.

The CSC looks beefy and should hold. It all depends on the tolerances inside of it though which you can't see. Time will tell.....

I will post this soon. We just installed another GTM kit. This is a stage 2 on a 6spd. The car laid down a max output at 540rwhp at 10.5 psi with cats and Stillen 2.5" exhaust. This was with a stock clutch as well. Tuning is the key on the 370Z TT. At 5.+ psi the car made an impressive 42^rwhp on our Dynojet heart breaker. The car was sent out at 8.8psi which was about 505rwhp.

I've heard mixed reviews though, some say its fine, others say the wheel is so light you have to pay attention every time you stop and go as to not stall it. Pedal feel is never really the complaint, its more about the fw.

Man 505whp at 8.8psi damn, that must be nice.

So, who's recorded the most miles with either SC or TT setup on the OEM clutch?

Prob Stormcrow's old car, Cicio drive daily now and the clutch didn't slip till it hit 580rwhp.

re the GTM TT on 6 speed: It's mine and the TT's and everything else are running fine thank you. Kudos to John at Z1 for the install and tune. 8.8 PSi seems to be working out fine. In the spring I'll go for the JWT clutch/flywheel and we will see what 540 RWHP feels like. Drove car from Georgia to New Hampshire and it purred. :-)
