Don't expect to be able to track the car with a tt unless you have some insane cooling solution.

My temps tend to stay at around 200-210 max when I beat it in 100 degree weather. I bought my SC partly because of this. TT cars tend to stay off the track unless you have an insane budget. That's just my experience...

:iagree: same reason for my SC choice over TT

just wondering what you guys are getting at idle, my get about 200 on idle, with a hks 15row oil cooler, but thats after like driving for about 10-20min

jayfightmoves 08-16-2010 09:01 AM

we are running 14qts of oil in the car and 2 coolers... big gains can be made by addional air flow. On these 100deg days we still see 240 water 240 oil. Just got back from RTA at sebring (very hot) saw 260 oil 263 water!!!! We have beat the hell out of this motor at these temps... tons of WOT and 100s of laps at 12-13 PSI. Zero issues.... Buy good oil... change it after every track event... and be brave :)

Jay is that your son?.... if so he looks just like you  cute kid!

I'm actually kinda surprised your temps got so high. Damn man, even with all that cooling you still were close to going into limp mode.

Guillermo, unless you're planning on spending BIG $ on cooling like jayfightmoves did, don't plan on being able to do a full track session on the TT.

bullitt5897 08-16-2010 09:31 AM

Or you can get an upgraded radiator to help as well. Jay have you talk to CSF or Mishimoto? CSF has a really nice unit out and Mishimoto is looking to develop a unit...

Wow hot temps Jay, the Greddy is oil cooled only. But I dont think that is too big of a factor. 104 side and my temps never got over 195 last week. This with a little bit of aggressive driving. I have never had a problem with oil temps yet. This is a pure street car for me not a track car.

RCZ: I do not plan on tracking the car, might hit the 1/4 though I dont think my temps will be a problem if I decide to.

RCZ 08-16-2010 09:59 AM

Should be all good for quick quarter mile sprints!

JB, what cooling do you have that you don't break 195 with aggressive driving?? I have a monster truck spec cooler and I break 195 in 90 degree weather with some aggressive driving..

JB-370z 08-16-2010 10:25 AM

Wow really! I will even take vids to prove it! Just a comp GTM kit nothing like a moster truck oil cooler. And this is in 100 degree weather, this is with ripping a gear or two every once and while.

bullitt5897 08-16-2010 10:32 AM

RCZ thats because you went Stillen instead of the more efficient GTM kit :stirthepot:

Ooooo, drama.

Good thread.

jayfightmoves 08-16-2010 01:41 PM

Everything is a contributing factor.... We have huge rubber that transfers all that torque back to the motor as well as the increased rotating mass. The increased grip lets us stay WOT longer and get back on throttle sooner... all adding heat. My car is full race so Ill bounce the limiter rather lose the time in the shifts if I'm close to a breaking zone.... that's what really gets it cooking ;)

I have not looked into those radiators. We are however going to change up our cooling once again... so i look into them.
