Right Hand Drive Cars
This may be a bit of a noob question...
Can all of the TT and SC systems be fitted to a right hand drive 370Z out of the box or do specific alterations need to be done to accommodate it? |
I don't think all FI systems for LHD models will fit RHD models actually. I'm not sure of anything else though.
|
Na it doesn't fit right out of the box
|
If that applies for all FI systems here then that sucks.
|
Supercharger might though, not positive but it might be worth checking into further. I highly highly doubt a turbo would as its exhaust driven and the exhaust system on RHD and LHD are different.
|
OK so that being said, can any of the suppliers out there (GTM, Stillen, Greddy, etc) offer any insight into their FI systems being installed on RHD cars?
|
I had a lot of Fitment issues with my one but apparently sam has different kits now so I don't know about their fitment.
|
My kit fit perfect, with not one issue. One thing people need to remember that the fitment for the kit can be waaaayy off if the turbos are not clocked to the right degree!!! This is super important, and this can make or break your fitment.

:iagree::iagree::iagree:
He is 100% correct on this. I mean if a turbo is clocked just 5 mm off your going to have a world of fun with inter-cooler piping. I really don't see why you would have a problem installing a GTM kit since I am sure its the same engine still, only real difference is steering wheel location. Give sam a call and see what he says. No point starting a new thread, I am just wondering if anyone can confirm what kits fit on RHD cars?
Supercharger or turbo, and also what modifications to the kit were required or if it was bolt on? |
Most supercharger kits SHOULD fit RHD cars. The primary fitment issue pertains to the Steering Column. As long as you are not messing around the exhaust manifold area, you should be fine.
As for the Turbo charger kits, I can not speak on that. |
We know for a fact that the BP kit will not fit a RHD as the turbo and all of the charge piping route through where the steering column and knuckle will be.
|
supercharger kits should work just fine, turbos will need modification though
only supercharger kit i would think that might have fitment issues is the GTM stage 2 kit but im not 100% sure |

If it were me I would definitely call GTM to confirm fitment on RHD. Stillen might fit no problem but I'd call and verify that too. |

in theory since you dont have to mess with anything near the headers, it should fit, but again thats in theory, i dont think the steering knuckle would be in the way of the stage 1 and stage 1.5 supercharger kits as well as the stillen, but the stage 2 gtm kit might have problems cause iirc you cant run long tube headers without modification to the headers which could pose a problem with steering knuckle, but again, im not 100% sure since i am 1 N/A, 2 i own a LHD 370z who knows, they all might not fit without modification, only way for us to know is to have someone try and fit them on their own personal RHD car or if a manufacture comes out and says it fits on RHD cars |
The key to this discussion is that none of us know one way or ther other as no body has tried to installed a known kit on a RHD (that I know of).
If the OP wants to be the test rat than they can get comfortable with the fact that they might have to do some massaging to get everything to fit |
I have the stillen kit 370Z RHD fits with no issues.
If I knew how to upload pic from my phone it would be in this post. |
Thanks for the advice. I have been considering selling my amg and getting a 370z since I miss my old 350z. Unfortunately going from a V8 to a V6 I think some FI would be in order. Great to hear vlad thank you for confirming.
|
dunno about their supercharger but GTM makes a rhd turbo kit

Having said that, by the time I reach home there are going to be several new cars on the market. There's already the Mercedes CLA45 AMG and A45 AMG that offer great performance for similar total cost. And no FI maintenance to worry about. Also, there's the talk of the new Mazda RX7, Toyota Supra and Lexus RC F. I guess I'll have to just wait and see before diving in and being the test rat. Especially seeing as I'm closer to noob status than techy status. Oh and thanks for reviving this thread. :tiphat: |
