Right Hand Drive Cars

This may be a bit of a noob question...

Can all of the TT and SC systems be fitted to a right hand drive 370Z out of the box or do specific alterations need to be done to accommodate it?

fullmonty 07-12-2010 10:26 PM

I don't think all FI systems for LHD models will fit RHD models actually. I'm not sure of anything else though.

tao168 07-12-2010 11:59 PM

Na it doesn't fit right out of the box

GUTCH 07-13-2010 02:21 AM

If that applies for all FI systems here then that sucks.

fullmonty 07-13-2010 02:48 AM

Supercharger might though, not positive but it might be worth checking into further. I highly highly doubt a turbo would as its exhaust driven and the exhaust system on RHD and LHD are different.

GUTCH 07-13-2010 05:31 AM

OK so that being said, can any of the suppliers out there (GTM, Stillen, Greddy, etc) offer any insight into their FI systems being installed on RHD cars?

I had a lot of Fitment issues with my one but apparently sam has different kits now so I don't know about their fitment.

JB-370z 07-13-2010 09:33 AM

My kit fit perfect, with not one issue. One thing people need to remember that the fitment for the kit can be waaaayy off if the turbos are not clocked to the right degree!!! This is super important, and this can make or break your fitment.

:iagree::iagree::iagree:

He is 100% correct on this. I mean if a turbo is clocked just 5 mm off your going to have a world of fun with inter-cooler piping. I really don't see why you would have a problem installing a GTM kit since I am sure its the same engine still, only real difference is steering wheel location. Give sam a call and see what he says.

Is a lot different on rhd is not just the wheel location, is the problem when all components of the car is the same but just in reverse is terms of left and right. And yes since out cars are so tight with space even a few mm off is a world of difference. I order and pay for my kit at Oct last yr. The kit sent to me then, has Fitment issues on rhd cars dunno about now, as we have told sam where it has gone wrong. Plus I'm pretty sure I'm the 1st rhd 370z with that kit

No point starting a new thread, I am just wondering if anyone can confirm what kits fit on RHD cars?

Supercharger or turbo, and also what modifications to the kit were required or if it was bolt on?

Whtfairladyz 02-21-2014 11:38 PM

Most supercharger kits SHOULD fit RHD cars. The primary fitment issue pertains to the Steering Column. As long as you are not messing around the exhaust manifold area, you should be fine.

As for the Turbo charger kits, I can not speak on that.

jwick 02-21-2014 11:43 PM

We know for a fact that the BP kit will not fit a RHD as the turbo and all of the charge piping route through where the steering column and knuckle will be.

luigi90210 02-22-2014 01:01 AM

supercharger kits should work just fine, turbos will need modification though

only supercharger kit i would think that might have fitment issues is the GTM stage 2 kit but im not 100% sure

Don't know if I'd be that confident all SCs will work. All GTM kits have the SC (other than the twin which were made for AWD) on the lower lefthand side where a RHD steering wheel colum would drop. That could very well become an issue.

If it were me I would definitely call GTM to confirm fitment on RHD. Stillen might fit no problem but I'd call and verify that too.
