Why is it that with stillen there is like a 100 diffrence with hp and tq? gtm sc and other turbos are a lot close with the hp tq numbers.

Could be a number of things, Stillen moved both TB onto one side, they are also using an air to water cooler system.

Updated the list with a few new additions and changes.

Added a few more people to the list, keep sending me info on your or a buddies build to add to the list.

Added, and glad to finally get to see the F.I. kit in the list and compared to others. Cannot wait to see more from F.I. to get a good solid comparison of all major kits on the list.

Also added a few others, Liquid_G (SC) and Zuperman_370 (SC) to the list.

I can't help but think this is the majority of the reason the Stillen kits come in under the competition.

The manifold doesn't seem to be as good a design as the stock one and the cooling capacity of their water to air intercooler just doesn't seem up to snuff.

There was someone on the forum that converted to a front mount using the stock manifold and got MUCH better numbers. If I were to ever try and do a S/C on the cheap, I'd buy someone's used Stillen kit and have a new mounting bracket made so I could front mount an Air to Air using the stock manifold.

^who did this? Very interested. Wouldn't the air from the blower need to get split up somehow into the two TBs?

I think maybe the Swiss370 guy?

I can't remember. Whomever it was, I believe he did the single in/dual out intercooler like GTM uses to "split it".

theDreamer 08-21-2013 01:06 PM

Was not swiss, I think he just did a propeller upgrade so far and kept the Stillen manifold.

theDreamer 08-21-2013 01:11 PM

Will do some more digging and see if I can find who it is.

My single-turbo VSR build has an update:

My hp/tq and boost numbers changed after Motion Lab re-tuned my car. The details are in my build thread, but basically I think the original tune was done on a dying o2 sensor that I recently replaced. The boost level was turned down from 9.9psi to 7.7psi according to the dyno graphs, but Motion Lab was able to refine the tune and achieve awesome results on lower boost levels =

OLD
Original dyno = 503 rhwp / 408 ft-lbs @ 9.9psi

NEW
Baseline run = 460 rwhp / 396 ft-lbs @ 7.4psi
Final tuned run = 498 rwhp / 436 ft-lbs @ 7.7psi
