Wonder how many hours of tuning before the final tune is approved. 1000hp sure is going to put some wear and tear on your dyno!:driving:

This won't effect the dyno, the ideal sutuation is for us to reach our goal with out having to make million dyno pull .

Mike congrats on doing this. I won't say good luck because it won't be needed you chose a good shop to do your build. I should be all done with mine by the end of the weekend :happydance:

So have you bought a back up car. Do you plan on driving that car alot??? I wonder how hard it would be to drive a Z with that much HP. Is there a guess on how much TQ the car will have at 1000HP?

Edit: Sorry for all the questions

bullitt5897 07-06-2010 11:21 AM

I dont mind the questions :D

The car is expected to be a Daily driver which is one of the many reasons this build is so monumental! I am currently debating putting my bike back on the street or buying another car when funds become available. Yeah driving around town will be on spring pressure to ensure the safety of myself and others. If needed I will turn it up but I highly doubt I will need that much power on the street. the 1000hp+ will be reserved for events, exhibitions, dynos and shows.

RCZ 07-06-2010 02:37 PM

So what steps are you taking to make this daily drivable?

You highly doubt you'll need 1000whp on the street? really there's a chance you might need 1000hp on the street? BTW...and not to be a jerk, but events, exhibitions, dynos and shows are all the same thing...

You should try and get on the Texas mile... its the only place you'll ever really get to use that power for anything but burnouts or dyno runs. Maybe set a goal for something like 200mph run. That's got a lot more merit and its wayyy more fun and satisfying than "Hi, I have a 1000whp motor" Or is this strictly a show car?....that is daily driven somehow?

Definitely not hating, but just something I thought about when reading your thread. If you're building a show car then that's cool too.

What are you trying to do here?

EDIT: Just read the title under your name, that my answer?

When I say exhibition I mean events like the texas mile... I am also trying to schedule a standing mile race with a Veyron. Exhibitions are displays of performance. Shows are just that "oooo ahhhh its pretty" kind of thing. Events such as dyno pulls and car meets are another way the performance will be shown on closed courses. I definitely plan on attending the Texas mile but will have to add quite a few things before I can make my runs. Anything over 190mph requires a cage.

I have a saying that I like to stick to: "I would rather have it and not need it than to need it and not have it". Now I do not condone street racing and hope that I wont need that power but you never know...

If you come for the Texas let me know ahead of time.

RCZ 07-06-2010 03:38 PM

Yeah, Texas mile would be amazing. Going that fast requires some more interesting engineering for sure. Tires that can do 200mph, streamlining the bodywork, underbody panels, gearing changes, cage, etc.

Racing a Veyron is also pretty epic, but I don't think you stand much of a chance at 1000whp. Would be cool to see how close it is though.

Good luck!

I think I will do fine figuring we are over 600lbs lighter and that 1000rwhp is just a starting point

lucky bastard!

I would love to see a Z vs Veyron race!!

It would be really cool, but you don't have AWD and a dual clutch transmission. Not sure that you can make up ground on it at any point... its not just about hp/weight past 500whp. Being able to put power down becomes increasingly hard. They run 9's on stock tires,...
