I'm really done derailing this thread, but I wasn't talking about either one of your cars.

"Sam" himself mentioned they were trying to iron out the install instructions. He has also blatantly missed 2 dates in which he said he would provide results.

Not dogging him specifically, but i've seen way too many companies in the automotive aftermarket world promise this and that and never deliver. Or deliver late with a huge markup because of "unforseen circumstances".

You get a product completed, and bring it to market. Don't blur the lines and pretend its ready. Much like Berk can't get exhausts out because of holdups.

Price is..well..what it is. Nothing for a 370z is cheap. I'm not sure why everything for this car costs 4-10 times more than domestic car parts, but they do.

bullitt5897 07-20-2010 07:14 PM

DarkZide do you do much heavy modification to cars?

Often companies will release a product that is by their knowledge 100%... They test on the platform they have available to them for the time frame in which they have that platform. A supercharger for this car is not an easy task and GTM has stepped up to the plate designed a kit installed several already on the VQ37 platforms. Now with any build large or small there is bound to be hiccups (this is not in any way an excuse but rather a reality check). Sam and team have not marked up the kit and they have delivered working vehicles. This one vehicle seems to have a few hiccups that they have to trouble shoot and if your in this type of industry you know that it can be very frustrating and take alot of your time fixing little gremlins. I work on motorcycles and you want to talk about price... how about a "works" radiator for an R1... that costs $7500+ for a small 6" radiator extension!!!! Dont complain about the price because the price for these kits is on the same level if not cheaper than a kit for say the mustang or camaro!

Try buying parts for a Honda S2000 I spent nearly $10k on a N/A car and only got 50rwhp more out of the engine! The Z is a great platform and is cost effective to say the least! If you think our parts are expensive then go buy another car and modify it.

NYBladeZ 07-20-2010 07:33 PM

I reserve judgment on GTM's kit but its still disappointing that they are only running oem headers and cats and still not making that much boost. The VQ motor cannot be the one lone exception where greater exhaust flow actually loses power. I know Sam is a workaholic hopefully he will be able to address these issues.

shumby 07-20-2010 07:46 PM

^^^^ why are they not making boost. where was that stated? I chose to go with the 6psi pully, this was because i did not want more then 350 tq on my tranny. the kit does get 8 PSI. I choise not to go fulll out. nowhere no how did anyone state they did not or cannot get 8 PSI.

Only stillin is issuing a recall to downsize the pully and tone down the tune. NOT GTM

shumby 07-20-2010 08:40 PM

posted today on the G37 site.

Bullit is correct, the instructions are being finished up and as each new kit goes out things are being fine tuned. Though as with Shumby's build, another G37 and my own almost done we can see things coming slowly, it may not be as fast as some of you expected but patience can be rewarding.
