It’s truly a pleasure to take a good car, and simply improve on every aspect of it, transforming it into a great car. Recently, we had the pleasure of building this great 370Z Twin Turbo for a customer, turning a bone stock Z, to a 450whp track monster. We performed upgrades to all portions of this 370Z to help prepare it for High Performance Driver’s Education events. Here are the specs:

Engine:
• Greddy Twin Turbo Kit
• Walbro 255lph Fuel Pump
• RC engineering 550cc Injectors
• Greddy E-Manage Ultimate Engine Management
• Stillen Oil Cooler
• Fast Intentions Exhaust
Drivetrain:
• Spec Stage 3+ Clutch
Suspension:
• Hotchkis Front and Rear Sway Bars
• HKS Hipermax III Coilovers
Brakes:
• Factory 4 Piston Front Calipers
• Stoptech Slotted Rotors
• Stoptech Stainless Steel Brake Lines
• Stoptech Ceramic Brake Pads
• Tilton TSR-1 Brake Fluid
Safety:
• Sparco Fighter Seats (Red)
• Sparco 4 Point Harness (Black)
• Mazworx Custom Built 4 Point Roll Bar

Head Technician: John Ferguson
Custom Tune: Darin Dichiara

The end result is a well balanced car that can compete at the track, while still being daily driven. The owner can now enjoy and feel comfortable with the car at any race track and make the most of his “GTR Killer” with improved brakes, suspension, engine and safety upgrades.

Nice Build!!! How much is the roll bar? I need one!

JB-370z 06-10-2010 04:03 PM

That roll cage is nice!

370zForever 06-10-2010 04:03 PM

Nice.....Yeah, lets get some info on that roll bar, looks awesome.

kenbains12 06-10-2010 04:05 PM

Roll Bar

It was kinda expensive $2k. But after seeing all the work...its actually peanuts! Its a really Crazy Custom Build, all the interior in the rear and floor is taken out and its welded to the chasis. But the quality is perfect. It looks as though it came straight from the factory!:ughdance:

flashburn 06-10-2010 04:08 PM

Is that a member's car? Who? I'd love to see it in action!

edit: Nevermind, I guess it's yours Ken?

FuszNissan 06-10-2010 04:08 PM

Nice! I am glad to see more turbo builds popping up. Love the roll cage and seats.

JB-370z 06-10-2010 04:11 PM

The roll cage is like what comes in the Prosche GT3RS stock.

bullitt5897 06-10-2010 04:19 PM

dlmartin81 06-10-2010 05:11 PM

Ken - I noticed you have an F.I. CBE. Is that custom as well (3" ??), or is it the 2.5" TDX?

I Run L.A. 06-10-2010 05:17 PM

Nice

It's 2.5" all the way through, I don't believe Tony made a 3"

kenbains12 06-10-2010 05:39 PM

Ya its the 2.5 all the way thru! But the cats are off and straight pipes come with the Greddy kit.....But I must say Tony at F.I. is so easy to work with and has a wealth of knowledge on this car. Im really happy with the exhaust note! No droaning at low speads and when the turbo's kick in........:icon18:

Caravanshaka 06-10-2010 05:55 PM

there is an issue putting it together because that shop was banned from this site due to shady business. They are local, and I won't deal with them.

RCZ 06-10-2010 06:01 PM

Looks like a clean clean build, very nice!

kenbains12 06-10-2010 06:06 PM

Caravanshaka- They were really professional with me! Nothing at all was shady! But please do tell more?:tiphat:
Thanks

I wasn't personally involved, but I support the forums and they were banned from using this site, so I will not consider them when doing anything with my Z.

Glad to hear you had a good experience though, would hate for someone to get screwed over

He will soon. It'll be on our Z for testing in the next month or so.

Chris_1 06-10-2010 07:46 PM

Not to be the downer, but dont start putting press about your company until you become a sponsor, just simple rules thats all. You guys would definately be a nice addition.

Nixlimited 06-11-2010 12:09 AM

Can you actually hear the turbos on any of these kits? I guess I was used to my GT30R which screamed. I WANT to hear the turbos.

I agree,
Ken, if you are advertising your Shop? great but
a reminder, You need to become a vendor for permission.
Its in the Forums rules. Please contact AK370Z
Thank You :tiphat:

It looks pretty good.

kenbains12 06-11-2010 05:43 AM

Sorry Guys....Im actually not a vendor..Nor do I have any finanacial gain with Titan motorsports. Im just another guy who got turbo's put on the Z by them. They forwarded me the video they made and I thought all of you guys would enjoy it. Sorry Im not trying in anyway to promote them, but they really did do a great job. I wasn't aware of the forum rules.
Oh ya in response to the turbo's sound! They "SCREAM":icon18: when they start to come on at about 3800rpm's....Literally!!! So loud....So loud...everyone around will turn there heads!!!! :excited:

Oh ya if you think I just take it down let me know! Im new to this forum stuff!!

Thanks

kenbains12 06-11-2010 05:58 AM

:tup:Oh ya btw....the car spins out in 1st & 2nd.....easily!!! The power is insane!!
Dyno number at the wheels was 449. Thats still with the stock ecu! But the car isn't as loose in turns as I thought it would be... also I got the car track aligned with it sand bag'd to my weight when they did the corner balancing!!!!!

The HKS hypermax 3's are amazing! The car rides so so smooth!!!! & is pin point sharp.... Almost as sharp as a BMW, but the car feels very well balanced.
Here is a copy of the email they sent me when they balanced it!

939 / 939
737 / 731

3346 LBs dry, with me in it we were able to get it to nearly a 50/50 weight
balance on the scales and near perfect right to left.

It's still a bit heavy of a car, if he wanted to do more down the road we
could cut the interior, remove sound deading and extra crap and probably get
200-250lbs out of the car I would imagine, he'd loose his creature comforts
though, not something I'm sure he wants to do.

Aligning it in a few.

-Wes

Jesse_Hunter 06-11-2010 07:38 AM

Can you give me a guess-timite on what total parts cost would be?

I don't get it, you got the car corner balances with your weight...but "if HE wanted to do more down the road" and "HE'd lose HIS creature comforts"????? Thought this was your car?

kenbains12 06-11-2010 07:51 AM

I think around 15k to 18k! The Greddy kit alone is 7.5K + all the little stuff that has to be replaced after taking the car apart such as tranny fluid, oil, misc items. I can scan & pm you the invoices so you have a better idea if possible!

kenbains12 06-11-2010 07:55 AM

Caravanshaka- Ya sorry a bit confusing........the email was actually between the sales manager (Marty)and the tuner (Wes)! He had forwarded there conversation to me......so i had a copy of the number they had come up with when balancing was to be completed!

flashburn 06-11-2010 07:57 AM

Hey Ken,
Are you going to be tracking or autocrossing your car any time soon? I'd love to check it out!

Just wanted to clarify something since I got a PM asking what Titan had done to me that wasn't professional. My bolded comment was directed to the posts just above which contained a link to a Dallas shop that has been banned from using this Site. I don't want anyone to think i was talking about Titan with this comment just because I forgot to link the posts I was referencing in the first place, it wouldn't be fair to them. Just wanted to clear that up real fast

:tiphat:

kenbains12 06-11-2010 08:27 AM

Titan clarification!

:tiphat:Thanks for the clarification................You kinda had me worried, since I made my decision to use Titan, all my research showed they had a impeccable reputatution in the motorsport world.......Oh ya Also after seeing them on a Lambo installing turbo's which btw is to is to produce over 1300rwhp....It's a Beast of a build...whole motor was rebuilt!!!!!!!! So if a customer can trust them with his lamborghini murcielago..... I could trust them with a 30k car! lol
:ughdance:
