Now I'm confused. Guess I'll reserve judgment until the day I deal with him personally.

I know this shop and know they wouldn't turn a wrench without understanding what it is they are doing first. So I think there is fault on both ends. Don't argue with me, there's a thread on another forum that details the experience a little and I also heard it straight from the shop. I don't want to get involved in this drama, but I don't know that its fair to judge Forged so harshly when I know for a fact that GTM products aren't exactly perfect either.

Just my 2 cents, as everyone knows no one is perfect, and the experience doing the first 370Z TT kit installation, outside of Sam, was a learning experience for both, things that he could deal with locally were amplified by adding a coast to coast shipping ordeal with a car waiting on the lift.

That being said the issues were not extreme and all taken care of, luckily the tech we had doing it was very patient and did a great install without complete instructions.

This was done back in September and the car is still running strong without any issues.

Is Sam perfect? no, but does he try to fix issues when they arise? yes, I can't complain with the end product and we would have no issue doing another install of a GTM Kit.

:ugh2: confused...

I don't see how this thread is benefitting anyone, consumer or supplier. All it's doing is providing a potential mudslinging party between various shops, while confusing / scaring the hell out of potential customers.

To me, any time you work under the hood has potential to end in catastrophic failure. But to borrow a quote, 'you pay to play'. In this case, it's your vehicle, not money. You want forced induction? Do your research and choose one, but you'll eventually have to take the risks involved as well. While I can appreciate doing it right 'the first time', things CAN and WILL go wrong without warning, and it's just how you move forward to make it right again that really matters.

With that said, OP is prem, and should lock this before it gets out of hand. Just my two cents, though.

LOL don't be, yes it was a trying experience but not anything that I would would say is "shady" that is a strong word to use and I don't think it merits to be used with our experience with GTM then and now. As I said the issues were all addressed and the best part is that the car is doing well

RCZ 04-13-2010 08:53 PM

Let me clarify it wasn't you or anyone from your shop that said shady. The only thing I remember you saying was exactly what you just described already.

Either way, that's all I got. I also don't know what the purpose of this thread is...

It was posted by Sam@GTM on another forum. Its design is to let everyone know that he will no longer authorize Forged Performance as a GTM reseller.

I can't answer. I really have no opinion on it either way. I would say sure?

Why close it? I mean ... as a potential SC kit buyer who will look to shops like forged and GTM for my installation - I would like to know if I need to be aware of whats going on... with that said - this thread is full of speculation and what not... I for one am open to keeping it going hoping to see some updates about this so called "law suit" - I am interested to see what happens so I can learn from others who went after the FI dream sooner than myself...

So ... unless this gets really out of hand ... (which I dont think its reached yet) ... keep it open..

I think we all have been informed on page one and should close it down. Don't see the need for keeping it open.

:wtf2:  Close it..

travisjb 04-13-2010 11:39 PM

I agree close it...

I'd like to add one final note of support for Forged Performance, because I don't want people to read too much into the OP... This is simply a thread about a vendor airing his laundry publicly re his channel/dealer. The reasons are cryptic at best. Relationship between supplier and vendor are usually complicated, with issues ranging from inventory, returns disputes, A/R and A/P disputes, etc, all of which can show up publicly as "that company sucks" but in reality may be more about $ or emotions.

As for Forged Performance, they are one of the original sponsors of this board, they sponsor customers, they race, they spend hours on the phone dispensing advice for FREE, they are stacked with knowledgeable people - foremost Sharif - and for me at least they have always been extremely responsive with quotes, ship times, etc. I wouldn't hesitate in referring them to anyone, and I trust their advice regarding FI ;)

This will only get worse from here. Before you know it, there will be 5689545 posts, 200 pages and a big brawl shouting not to mention many reported posts, name calling and trolls from every single automotive forums. Feel free to make a new thread (and make these threads 1 , 2 as reference if you have to as they will be here on the forum) when you're ready to install/research your TT kit.
