Twin turbo setup

I'm interested in a twin turbo setup that can produce more than 700rwhp. I have looked at other turbocharger but i found a turbonetics one that could work because it is made to handle up to 1000hp. Would I need to strengthen the internals and what else would be necessary cooling, tuning, and tubing wise. I have no set budget, so I would be able to spend a substantial amount of money. If any autoshops are interested please PM me.

Vegitto-kun 04-05-2010 06:15 PM

you definitely would need to strengthen the engine if you are going to pump out 700 RWHP.

if I remember correctly the engine can handle about 500 HP maximum

theDreamer 04-05-2010 06:18 PM

If you are 100% go with this, then I would talk to Sam@GTM & Sharif@Forged, yes you will need to upgrade the internals but that is just one step of many you will need to do to hit 700whp (or more).

Vegitto-kun 04-05-2010 06:22 PM

yeah.

like

internals.
CAI
CBE+LTH
retuning the engine.
some GT-R sticker for extra HP
new clutch
and so on

I do want to see a 700 HP 370 launch

RCZ 04-05-2010 06:23 PM

Expect to pay at least...18-20k.

You need a TT kit and a new built block.

As someone said, call Sharif.

or he can spend $20 for multiple gt-r stickers and still get 700rwhp

in all seriousness, you will need to completely rebuild the engine to take that kind of power. new set of internals, intake / exhaust system, (insert component here) cooler, transmission upgrades, blah blah, etc. RCZ probably has it about right with ~20k lol

bullitt5897 04-05-2010 06:28 PM

Hey guys you won't have to wait to long to see a 700hp 370z launch. I will be the first to get there thanks to sam @ GTM!!! You guys need to do a LOT of reading before you jump into this arena! Expect to invest atleast $20-30k to get there! I will have that much and more invested into my Z... 1000rwhp 370z coming to a street real soon!

CBRich 04-05-2010 06:30 PM

What is all this CAI and header talk? He said turbo.

bullitt5897 04-05-2010 06:31 PM

That's exactly way I was thinking lol

Vegitto-kun 04-05-2010 06:32 PM

even with a turbo you still need a good Cold air intake and headers for optimal airflow. don't want the exhaust and intake being a bottleneck

bullitt5897 04-05-2010 06:33 PM

Hahahaha seriously... Do you know anything about turbo systems?

Vegitto-kun 04-05-2010 06:35 PM

honestly not a whole lot. but you can hardly just keep the stock exhaust.

:roflpuke2:

@Bullitt -- how pissed would you be if you weren't the first 1000 whp 370?

Well, CAI & LT headers = not compatible with Turbo applications. :icon18:

LaSeeno 04-05-2010 06:37 PM

If you have tons of cash laying around for repairs--do it.

Otherwise, I can't see anyone who is asking for who to contact or what to purchase being someone who should get a TT setup.

Yep, I'm a hater.

well I am sorry being mistaken. I was thinking about the CAI being wrong but I didn't know that headers didn't go with turbos. Oh well a person can always learn

I will forgive you if you send me chocolate! :icon18:

Vegitto-kun 04-05-2010 06:44 PM

yeah I realised my CAI mistake pretty quick but damn I was stupid on the headers part.

if anybody has time to explain how turbos eliminate it feel free to :roflpuke2:

And I cant wait for a 1000HP 370 launch. tires will be smoked.

m4: what kind of chocolate. we have plenty of choices :roflpuke2:

phelan 04-05-2010 06:46 PM

1000 hp 370Z will rip the tires apart lol XD

had to fix my post too...dammit reading vegitto's post screwed me up :rofl2:

Vegitto-kun 04-05-2010 06:49 PM

Yes I do that to people.

I facepalmed at my own post after thinking it over :roflpuke2:

I'll be sure to contact GTM, I just wanted suggestions becuase i was talking to a friend of mine and he said that I might as well buy a N1 RB26DET block and turbo it to get that amount of power safely. I also did not see any 700rwhp goals when I was searching through the forums.

@Bullitt- good luck with your build and I can't wait to see your 1000hp build

FuszNissan 04-05-2010 07:27 PM

Just get a stroker, and some TT's and call it a day.

I would set aside about 30K

Vegitto- exhaust manifold, catted down pipes - that is how

bullitt5897 04-05-2010 10:03 PM

Lou,

don't give away my secret sauce!!! Lol

guys I am very confident that I will be the 1st to 1000rwhp

Wouldn't think you would have to have a tranny upgrade for 700whp. They took apart a tranny from an hr series motor and it was as beefy as a supra getrag tranny which holds **** tons of power stock.

bullitt5897 04-06-2010 08:33 AM

Sam you Bastard!!! Lol

m4a1mustang 04-06-2010 08:39 AM

We need someone with Warren Buffet's pockets to come in and beat Mike to 1000whp :P

For 45k, 1000rwhp seems like a good deal, but more than doubles the price of the Z...this is gonna take more money than I thought.

Do you even know what you'd do with 1000 whp? Heck, even 700 whp.

2theextreme 04-06-2010 08:47 AM

I already spent that amount just to go N/A.....I'm tapped out for now. :icon14:

vipor 04-06-2010 08:48 AM

Spent more than that between the Smurf and Bigbird :rofl2:

Indeed I have.......:icon14:

LiquidZ 04-06-2010 09:22 AM

I drove a TT 350z with 600 whp. The car was fast as hell, but I couldn't enjoy it as a daily car. I think 450-500 is about all I want.

370z TT 04-06-2010 11:20 AM

It would be sort of annoying to drive, but you would have the fastest thing on the street...unless another 1000hp car is next to you

bullitt5897 04-06-2010 11:42 AM

guys, the good thing about turbo cars is you can turn down the boost and DD the car in the fun zone but when that time arises and you need the extra oomph just turn up the boost :D

superchargers cant do that hahahaha
