Hey Guys,
Just wanted to jump in here and give some more information for people. First off, no one has had 8 tunes. There is not a single customer vehicle that has had 8 tunes. We started doing the initial tuning and we absolutely acknlowedge that we only recently began using the UPrev software so we tried a few different methods of tuning which brought us to R4. All of the first kits that were shipped out, shipped with R4. And, many customer's are still running R4 with no issues at all. Along the way we (as well as UPrev) have learned a lot about these cars, in particular, how different one car can be from the next. Also, we have learned that these cars react differently to different variables. If you see pictures of a vehicle with our supercharger and the fascia off you will see the Y-pipe designed intake. Then a silicone reducer coupler that leads into a polished aluminum intake pipe. On SOME cars, not all, if that Y-pipe is not perfectly perpindicular, like our instructions say, the MAF sensors will read differently and therefore confuse the ECU. However, this doesn't happen on ALL cars. Also, if that Silicone reducer coupler is pushed in too far, the released air from the pressure by-pass valve re-entering the intake pre-supercharger, can cause some turbulence, this can also confuse the ECU on some cars. While not affecting other cars at all. We list detailed mounting directions on both of these items in the instructions, however we have gone ahead and made changes to the parts themselves so now they ship with labels stuck to them indicating the correct mounting orientation and/or the correct mounting depth. Also, UPrev has found some glitches inside the FACTORY programming that we were all trying to work around. It wasn't until they built a special tool that could actually data log the ECU before we could fully see where the problem was originating from. As soon as we identified the issue, UPrev was able to make the necessary changes and recommendations. |

^^ thanks for the update Kyle.. Interesting that our cars can be so picky about placement and such. Your product is still under consideration!

I just now got around to loading the R8 tune into my '09 A7. However, so far I have only driven it to work this morning and the roads were wet and cold so I have not really got into the throttle. Initial dirving impressions is that the motor throughout the rev range is smoother. Other than that until I can dirve her some more I can't tell much difference. But then again my first tune, the R6 tune, worked well with the exception of a hot start issue and a little bit of tip-in knock when the outside air temps dropped.
As soon as I have put some miles on her with 91 octane (been running 93) I'll report back. |

Kyle, just throwing this out there. Maybe something like this can help with the angling and pipe reducer issue. Maybe UR can mimic this tool or work with AEM on something like thier ETI system.
