Yep, second redlines at 62mph I think. Someone at Nissan was thinking in KPH when they chose that gear ratio.

To me, the worse attributes of the 370Z are the high rpm engine vibration and it's sraight line performance. Everything else about the Z is pretty damn wonderful. With that said, it's straight line performance is essentially the same as the ISF. So if you're into performance driving, the ISF is a real snoozer because it's best performance is in a striaght line. With it's 8 speed auto, it launches hard and predictable. You can't really even manually shift it though, because of it's low redline and 8 speed tranny. You'll be constantly banging the rev limiter. If you want to race people 0-60 and do nothing else performance oriented with the ISF, it would be ok, but if you're into performance driving, chances are you spend a lot of time in corners, cresting hills and charging out of corners. The Z provides huge ammounts of driving enjoyment doing that in ways that even my C6 Corvette couldn't. With a supercharger on the Z, there would be no comparison to the ISF.

I do not agree, A fully modifiyed N/A 370 sport 7 AT almost hit 12.7s on stock tires with 292 rwhp. Now that i have 320 N/A , I will see what it runs at the track this saturday at the Z drag day in Toronto. Its all about aceleration !.
With either the stillen or the Gtm this car will go 11.7's.
Now i have 305 35 18 drag radials. on the car.with 4.08 gears.
RCZ Take it to the track on steet tires you will be amazed how fast it will run.
You got your SC before me. Please pm me on how it runs.
Best of luck to you with your car

Thanks
Z

Benca, whats up buddy!? On the rocks with the ISF now?

A 370z and the ISF are two very differenct cars! Your ISF is going to be very "engineered". The one thing I didn't like about it was that in sport mode the transmission would change gears randomly up and down, seemed like it was referencing the TPS a little too much. The Z, with the manual tranny, is going to be a very responsive, function built machine with a very sporty ride comfort level. If you want a quiet "luxury" ride with all the bells and whistles the ISF is it! If you are looking for a lightwieght machine with brakes, steering, gas, etc. the Z is the way to go...purpose built! When I get on the throttle with my Z, it doesn't *%&# around! You add the S/C and you will be putting the Corvette where it belongs...

Sorry to see you leave T/W, wish you could keep the Taco too!

I want to go see what it can run on the track...Wish I could slap on stickier rubber for a run or two, but I don't see that happening. Maybe next week I will go and hit up the track. I'm not much of a drag racer, but its all good. Has anyone with FI done a track pass yet?

Sorry for the noob question, but what does a supercharger offer that a turbo setup does not, besides lower price?

Is there an engine-cover available for the Stillen?

So far nothing has changed as far as driveability. Temperatures have remained stable even in traffic. Driving with the A/C on things get a little jerky, but that's understandable considering the added load. Gas mileage I'm not sure about because my fuel gauge has gone haywire... just the other night it went from showing empty and flashing to 4 dots when I stopped at a light... gotta get that checked out. I was driving normally and was getting 25mpg according to the computer. Passing on the highway is a breeze...also even though the exhaust got louder, still no drone. If you have any specific questions I'd be happy to give you my input.

depending on type of SC, power in different part of RPM spectrum, generally less heat produced, you can leave the exhaust side of you engine alone, simple power upgrades with pully changes.

RCZ, if you are up here near toronto canada i will lend you the 305's for your car at the track. The volk t-37's would look good on your car.
