Those who daily drive their cars will probably have this on their minds because at least here in Chicago we still use salt to melt snow and we all know how bad salt is.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. The supercharger sits in place of the alternator, and the alternator has a openings in the case to aid in heat dissipation, so if that doesn't have any issues i can't see where the 100% sealed supercharger would have any problems.

Now that being said ... since i'm originally from the midwest and have been to chicago in the winter i have two words ... WINTER BEATER! its far cheaper than the damage you could do to the poor Z.

The really major selling point for us cali folks - when do you expect to get your CARB stage out? That intro price is nuts.... how much time do you estimate the install / tune would take for this?

what are the required maintenances with this kit for optimal performance?

SC kit oil change at every 3k and belt replacement at every 30-40K?

The Rotrex oil should be changed every 2 years/50000 miles, or whichever comes first with only The Rotrex traction fluid Rotrex SX100. as for the belt we are using BANDO belts which is the the number one OEM supplier and i have seen the belt last up to 60 k

How much would an "oil change" cost with the supercharger? With it being specific fluid, it has me curious...

Hey Sam quick question. That stage 3 kit you are selling online, the 550hp one, is that kit released? Would be interesting to get the specs on it.

If its a pre-order still, thats fine too, it just doesn't say anywhere that it is. I wouldn't want to be a customer who pays 6k for something to find out its not released yet. Might want to add something in there to let people know if thats the case...

The stage 3 kit is not released yet, it should be released by the time the stage one is ready ship and any of the customer that have taken advantage of the introductory pricing will have the option to upgrade to stage Two or stage three before shipping the stage one .

Hi guys,
I think that intro price is crazy - You can make a car run close to GTR-type levels with a fraction of the total cost! My question as a noob is: should I go with a Supercharger or a Twin Turbo if I want to make the car more powerful all-around. I know there are some advantages/disadvantages to each, but at $5K, a Supercharger is hard to beat if it's the best upgrade option, right?

Any thoughts

I think for being in California would recommend the supercharger kit.

Z eliminator 03-20-2010 06:41 AM

I think you guys with the 6? mt better get use to getting your ***** kicked by the 7 AT's.
Just wait till my GTM SC is up and running. Stage ? with all the toys.
Z's car car with a VB and a 2900 stall converter + 305 35 18 drag radials set up for the 1/4 mile. = a made in Canada 11.6, 1/4 mile time.
Soon to be a stock GTR's worst night mare.
a quick up date on the N/A run, the braille 15 lb battery arrived yesterday. the target now is 12.52 with 320 RWHP.
Just think what the GTM is going going to run.
Sam we need you to build a fully modified 7 AT.
If you build it I will buy it.

i think it is other way around......... if you put your money down, he will build one for you :bowrofl::bowrofl:

plus, there is huge difference between AT vs MT..............

i personally prefer my sports cars with MT.......more control, better response.....

2fast4thelaw 03-20-2010 10:34 AM

Before I ordered my Z I drove both the Manual and Automatic and I was impressed with the response of the auto trans but I didnt like the manual shift mode though. It felt really forced when I was shifting it and I just seemed awkward shifting with the paddles on the steering wheel.

In my opinion there is no experience that matches a manual trans. When you really have the feel of the clutch down on the manual trans and your just blasting the car there is nothing quite like the feel of that perfect smooth shifting action of going throught the gears as your accellerating.

shumby 03-21-2010 12:27 AM

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Not a AT vs MT thread now. please stay away

lol.

But seriously AT faster them MT just saying............................................ .................................................. .................................................

Chriz 03-21-2010 01:00 AM

:iagree: on both ideas

Do you really have to list out all your specs and times in each and every one of your posts? lol just messing

shumby 03-21-2010 11:02 AM

you got to admit he got some impressive times. And Sam you know if he did not post everything someone would be on here calling BS

StillenZ 03-21-2010 07:14 PM

I love the fact that he lists that stuff.... Seems like he really knows what he's talkin about... Sorry for the off topic, just wanted to give my 2 cents... Can't wait to see the 11 second 1/4 by Z eliminator....gonna be nasty.

jerkey 03-21-2010 09:37 PM

Can anyone tell me if there is a release/ship date for the Stage 1 kit? Its the only thing keeping me from buying the GTM kit over the Stillen.

Anyone can hold down the brake, rev to 2900 (or whatever your convertor's stall is) and let it go.

Sounds like A LOT of fun.
