Once it is in and running, let us all know, I do not mind a nice drive. |
I for one will not be getting better gas mileage. With 400whp under my foot, chances are I wont be getting more than 10mpg...on a good day.

I will have the car back in Texas in about a month. There is still a few weeks of testing left (on either car). I typically come out to Dallas Cars and Coffee, regular G/Z meets in the DFW area, and I plan to start showing the car in some of the bigger events, so I'm sure there will be plenty of opportunity to meet up and meet everyone and get a chance to show off the car. Consequently, I'm from San Antonio so I make trips down to visit family and friends every now and then. |

We have a Dallas meet up this weekend, car show, beer, hockey but another once you get your car would work. :D |
With such Great Pricing you are making it hard to save my money!! Damn You GTM Damn You :)

Still, 6" of water is half way to the hub! |
Not very uncommon in the area where I live. I know there is a corner I take almost every day where a puddle forms in torrential rain that is EASILY 5+ Inches every time.
This was Miami beach a few months back after a day of rain. http://www.miamibeach411.com/news/in...ooded-streets/ Obviously that was an extreme case, but it happens here often and sometimes I have no option but to go over it or completely stop traffic. |
^^^ well it you would even think about driving your stock car through that you need to stop driving and take the bus.
|
Point is that its a concern for me since that happens, to a lesser extent, more often than it should around here. With the way it rains here in the summer you can get caught by surprise and have something deep enough form in a matter of minutes.
Can we stop talking about my personal situation and rain for a sec and get back to GTM's supercharger? I feel like this may not apply to some people and I'm derailing this thread. |

To the MPG question, when we put the Vortech kit on our 350z, we lost about 2 MPG in normal 60 mile per day commuting.. This was the standard 1/4 side streets and 3/4 stop and go highway traffic.

Injector latency/ engine load / etc etc (which ever software you are using ) - top row Cross ref fuel targets - down and right 14:7.1 = 1 Lambda (leaner) 11:5.1 = richer. ECU uses front o2 sensor in closed loop to adjust fuel trims to make target, generally ECU's will have switch over points from closed loop to open loop , usually open loop will be the meatier fueled/higher load areas of the map. Generally you will run leaner fuel, obviously for idle, partial throttle, cruise loads etc, then have a smooth transition in high load areas to make best power safely, tuners usually throw a little more fuel in at higher rpm on higher load cells to help with knock retention. Basic but should help. I beleive the Z fueling algorithm is more of a CL system for all, from my experience it seems to hit target pretty well. Heres an edit from my turbo charged E85 running vehicles fuel map, this one uses rpm and direct engine load for cell target fueling, hope this makes things clearer, this ECU did have a deddicated switch point from CL to OL fueling. http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...st/e85fuel.jpg Heres is stock rom in COBB format for the Z, this is Lambda based not AFR , same theory though. http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...COBBtables.jpg Back on track - Sam that install rate and timeline is very resonable, seems like a real sound product here. good job |
To make the process a little easier we added the supercharge kit to our website with the giving the option to chose between black or blue couplers, powder coating the piping and Thermo coating on the intercooler
Here is a link GTM Motorsports*::*FORCED INDUCTION*::*Supercharger Kits*::*GTM 370Z SUPERCHARGER KIT and some pics of the piping and the intercooler coating Sam |
mmm black powdercoated piping is what I want =].

What's the benefit of putting a thermal coating on your intercooler? I thought the point of thermal coating was to keep the heat in, hence why people put them on turbo components and headers. Wouldn't that negate the purpose of having an intercooler (heat exchanger)?
Is this a different type of coating? |

Seriously though, once the car is back here, I plan on coming out to Dallas Cars and Coffee, might even try to have a GTM sponsored event and fly Sam out to my place for the weekend and throw a big G/Z meet where the celebrity host is Sam! |
