My best estimate early next year for the SC stage 2.
The VB should be out shortly for the 7 AT.

shumby 11-24-2010 04:03 PM

and then wait to see whatelse the 7AT will need after he gets my trans.

G37sHKS 11-24-2010 06:03 PM

I thought the VB (Valve Body Upgrade?) had been available for a while already. It's mentioned on GTM's website.

Q8y_drifter 11-25-2010 04:16 AM

it's only available for the 5AT I think.

These cars do come with a wideband sensor from the factory.

Oh, no kidding? I stand corrected! Any idea why the factory is using a wideband on a non-FI car?

All late model vehicle have wideband sensors, Narrowbands are a blast from the past due to all the new Strict EPA requirement for emissions and MPG.

Besides wideband sensors are a lot more accurate then narrow band, 1 volt vs 5 volt range .

A TT huh? I wonder if they will change the tranny then to make sure it lasts. And how much more will it cost. It seems kinda wierd as it would be infringing on the GTR tho.

Well the artical reads that they were not planning on making the GTR yet they were going to hold it back. Also that the original 370z was to be TT like the 300zx. Well they decided to release the GTR and thats when are car plans went to **** and we got the 3.7. They didn't mention what engine they were going to use, but all it stated was when they decided to release the gtr, they decided to use the 3.7 ans the powerplant.
Frank

toner123 11-26-2010 04:03 PM

hey don't hold me to the accuracy of that just relaying what that said. my Buddy had the magazine at work and I just gave it a quick read through. Also that article doesn't mean they plan to come out with one in the future it was discussing the original development before they released the 370.

A TT Z would be fun and fast if they keep the 3.7 or 3.8 engine. When did they say this might happen? Im looking for a faster car now and am on the fence with the vette or maybe the Audi TT RS (if its under 55K). If not then prolly the vette.

Im in el paso and can open a vette up on a regular basis on roads here and when Im used too 400 HP and 400 TQ I can SC it and have fun all over again. I just dont trust the auto tranny on the Z right now.

I think everyone is looking into shumbys tranny failing a little to hard. Maybe sam can comment on that. I guess i can see the cause though since he has been the longest on a 7 at s/c. I would wait till sam gets his tranny before making a decision like that

After Sam is done with the AT Trans. you can bet it will be bullitt proof!

Z eliminator 11-27-2010 11:10 AM

Hopefully Sam will have my VB ready soon. The torque converter should be ready in my car with in a few weeks. It has a 3200 rpm stall. This should improve my 1/4 mile times.
My tranny shifts well but Sam says that with his VB it will shift even better.
I would my hold my breath on a fully build transmion from GTM till some time next year. R & D takes a long time and Sam will not release it till he tests it.
I feel with the VB. converter and his tranney cooler it should be ok as long as you do not hammer it 6th or 7th gear.
Can not wait to see how it works with my stage 2 SC and my 4.08 gears. (some time next year if im lucky) He is still waiting for the SC from rotex.
With my bolts on's the car is really quick especially after i installed the m370 intake in 1st and 2nd gear.
Z

shumby 11-27-2010 11:21 AM

ya guys my trans fail because of my driving style. i am a hwy way driver and I hammer on it in the upper gears. I was warned by Sam about this and i knew it might be an issue. Sam will have my trans for as long as he wants it for R&D. I am in no hurry to get it back. Time line could be in any ball park and Sam will not know anything more until he sees my trans.

Oh and elim. na na na na na na I have had my SC first. ha.

Z eliminator 11-27-2010 11:27 AM

My dear Canadian cousin

4.5 stroker with stage 2 Sc and fully built tranny with 4.08 gears.

Its worth the wait.

Zzzzzzzz you.

sinceday1 11-27-2010 05:31 PM

;)

theDreamer 12-04-2010 02:11 PM

Got the updated piece and Baker Tuning has it.
Scheduling a time to get it on and back on a dyno.

tkfracing 12-06-2010 09:50 AM

Properly My car is a Model A automatic transmission, it caused crash when I tuned on the Dyno car, so I use HKS F-CON V PRO, we tuned to the horsepower of 441 HP and can not tune to because the gear collapse I need advice from you.

G37sHKS 12-06-2010 10:04 AM

guys stop that..

no these transmission updates are not for 7AT

Sam, I think you should mention in your site that these trany builds are for 5AT so the new owners can know what they are looking at.

shumby 12-06-2010 11:50 AM

Sam will be getting my trans to start some R&D on it very soon. &at needs to be able to handel more power.

efuseakay 12-06-2010 11:58 AM

All Transmission parts on our web site are identified per trans model, there is very little place for confusion, We will be adding anther drop down where you insert you vehicle info for the trans model specific choice.

FYI

RE5R05A is for the 5AT
JR710E is for the 7AT

Thanks for the info...:tiphat:

tkfracing 12-06-2010 05:55 PM

I should do. Because of this honoring of the car when I am not available now.

Phimosis 12-12-2010 06:35 PM

Any updates on the GTM front? I forget how long it's been... a couple of months, that the redesigned charge pipe has been available? I haven't seen any dyno's. Do you have boost numbers? Did the PSI go up? Personally, I'd like to see a graph of the boost through the rpm range to see what Rotrex's planetrary gear drive is doing to impeller speed vs the belt drive that Vortech uses.
