What to do when I get my 370z

I was wondering what type of mods I should do when I get my Z around 2010. This will be my first brand new ride and if and when I can afford to do any mods, what is the best way to get some extra power? Is it better to get bolt ons, port and polish or just go for a turbo system. I assume doing all those bolt ons it will end up cost the same if not more than doing a turbo set up. I'm not looking into doing crazy insane HP increases. Any thoughts, suggestions from experienced modders would be greatly appreciated.:woot:
I do know some things about cars but when it comes to modding and all the stuff, i'm a newbie.
LIVE LONG startrek the movie. :bowrofl:

If you are new to a car like this I would suggest you do not buy any performance mods and just get use to the car stock first. Just my opinion though. No need to get a car like this and feel the need to get FI right away its asking for an accident.

I will be going full bolt-on with a complete suspension setup until the warranty expires. Once over, I will be heading over to Sound Performance for a fully built twin turbo setup.

I can think of a few things....

GTM Test Pipes
GTM Cat back exhaust
GTM Twin Turbo system

/end shamless plug :D

Seriously, you will enjoy this platform, it is truly great!

Test pipes will make more power :)

But, it will be personal preference.

Ya I know they do make more power. I was just stiring the pot. Test pipes to me is when I got FI

I would just get some decals and call it a day I believe you get about 5hp per decal. Btw, whatever you do don't get the APC decals I heard they drop the car's hp level.:ughdance:..

Umm, APS Twin turbo should be out by then. Cheers. Bit of a crazy thread.

uhhh...?

tvfreakazoid 01-22-2009 03:06 AM

Oh no I didn't mean I will mod it right away. NO WAY! I will definitely wait before I do some mods. I was just wondering and trying to get some ideas of what type of mods people like to do.

Sounds expensive. I will definitely wait until the warranty is over. What will void the warranty? Flashing the ECU, TT?

What is the difference between HFC's and test pipes?
For me i'm looking for one that will make good power and how well it will sound. Here's an I idea of what I would like it to sound. YouTube - Rogue Engineering E92 M3 Diablo RACE PROTOTYPE
For this one I may be stretching it a bit far but you get the idea. IF I could find one that sounds similiar to this, I will buy one right away. YouTube - Porsche Carrera GT with Straight Pipes

HFCs are.. well high flow cats.. i assume you know what a catalytic converter is, if not... here ya go Catalytic converter - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Test pipes are straight pipes that replace your stock cats..
