Ecu boost control via EVAP question
 

Planning to have my e85 TT tuned with SZs ECU Ecutek boost control solenoid kit.

But wondering if it completely disables the factory EVAP, and if it does, is it unsafe to drive for long periods, will we get fuel vapors in the cabin and do any long term damage to us? Or is the factory EVAP still in operation?

Great question shadow85. I am planning to do the same TT tune with SZ and use the Ecutek Evap Boost Control... did you have any issues with vapors or other issues using the Evap boost control setup? Thanks for any insights.

You'll be fine.

When the EVAP system is disabled, it will not perform its purge cycle, which is easy to think of similar to a water softener regeneration. Without the purge cycle, the charcoal canister just remains saturated and becomes ineffective. The system does not become sealed, it will just stop absorbing evaporative emissions. The fuel vapors will be expelled from the charcoal canister which is towards the rear of the car. You probably will not notice this in the cabin, if at all. Maybe in a closed garage.

At least, as I understand it. I havent spent a ton of energy learning about the EVAP system.
