Stillen 350zHR SC modification to 370z
 

Hello all,

So the situation is that my buddy bought a stillen supercharger kit for his 350HR. The kit took 8 months to arrive, and in that time he sold his car and moved. When the kit came, he told me to go pick it up and have fun! It’s brand new in box. So, that’s exactly what I plan to do.

There are some things that I am unsure of, but one thing I know for sure is that the intake manifold does not fit. I tried to put the manifold onto my lower plenum and it did not hook up. On the phone with stillen, they informed me that the supercharger itself is exactly the same but I would need a new intake manifold, and they were unsure about the rest of the kit. Question is now, what is going to need to be done to make this kit fit? Any suggestions, let me know. I’m trying to figure it out without having to mount the whole kit on the car and take it apart. Wow, I didn’t think of that one! Great suggestion if it didn’t take over a year to get this kit in the first place, and if I didn’t get the kit for less than half cost of retail.

No need for an intake manifold, contact TopGunz and get his A2A kit for the stock manifold ACE kit. If he's unable to supply it, you can just get a local fabricator to do all the work and get a simple treadstone IC for $500~

I'll look into this for sure! One of the issues I forgot to mention is that I also live in california. I am trying to have some sort of plausible deniability that the kit is within carb by keeping stillens name on it, especially on the intake manifold where it's clearly displayed. I have considered the a2a kit for sure, and some custom fab work is likely going to need to be done for pipes and such.

I think his point is that you should sell that kit since it's brand new and use the profit towards something that actually fits and is made for the car. Very little will actually fit and pretty much the only thing you bought was the supercharger and everything else is going to be custom fabricated or replaced and you will end up spending more then you would have in time and money then just getting the correct thing in the first place. It's like getting a great deal on a pair of dress shoes when you needed sneakers and trying to figure out how to make a pair of those. It's kind of silly to put it nicely. Nearly everything that connects to the car won't fit right and the few parts that do will probably interfere with another part. Even if you got it for free you'd be better off selling it and getting the correct one. Unless you enjoy misery and frustration or have nothing better to do continue on.

Good write up, thats a good way to put it. I figured since the 350's HR motor was very similar to the 370's VHR it wouldn't have that much trouble fitting up. Ive been considering the top guns kit conversion as mentioned earlier by another user, which seems to be my only option IF the supercharger itself actually bolts up in the same location. I'm going to check the fitment, and if it's wrong then the kit is going to be sold off for sure. Kind of unfortunate but is what it is!
