Thanks for summing it up for everyone... too bad they won't know til they get here ^

:rofl2::rofl2: I just caught up with the last few pages.
On another note - we worked mostly on light throttle and general set-up with a few light pulls yesterday. Everything going smoothly so far. We should be back up on the dyno this afternoon for some more time with the vehicle. Jon has some pictures he'll post up in a bit. |
Cliiinttttt you guys are getting paid to do heavy pulls!!! C'mon! :stirthepot::icon18:
|
Have you guys ever heard of direct ester bunny injection? I heard it gives you perpetual boost! and a huge HARD ON! :rofl2:

Never heard of ester bunny injection, but I have heard of Direct Exhaust Injection though...
http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog....007/11/dei.jpg :icon18: On a serious tip, like Clint said, we've started preliminary tuning on the car, working with her and getting some basic set-ups done, before we go more heavily into the tune and do some full throttle, full boost passes. I should be able to get some video of full runs later today, but for now, here are some pics I snapped of the car on the dyno: http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4013/...f9582ddfc1.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4071/...dd49f05208.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4004/...e559209781.jpg |

Thanks for the update Clint & Jon. I also got your voice mail, I was in a meeting, sorry I didn't get back to you. |
Keeping me awake in work- thanks - will check back in later for progress
|
Awesome!
|
Nice looking forward to the videos!!!

Ordering from Lou on Tuesday. I am thinking 265 up front and 305 in the rear. Anybody running these tires sizes? Looking to see if that is to wide up front.

I'm sitting here staring at those wheels, drinking a Fap Cola....
This thread has turned Epic. I was laughing so hard snot was running down my face. OK, too much information but you get the point. In for updates on Ester Bunny Injection. :shakes head: |
Fusz, I think someone ran 275 up front to test to see how far we could go.
|
Humm...275. Iam curious to know how the ride quality would be with 275's

should be okay up to 285 front with the right offset
|
Travis, you would say 285!

265/35/19 305/30/19 With no rubbing issues. Should be nice! |

Thanks Togo, I think I am going to stick with 265 up front.
+30 Up front offset |

It's been a long journey. I can't wait either.
|
I got 265 up front and 305 in the rear, Lou.....the fronts rubbed a little on me but AAM rolled my fenders. Could be because of how low I have my car. It's so low....I cant see it anymore because of the snow! :p

Now to decide on R11's or NT05's. |
>.>
|
I'd go with RE11's, any update on dyno graphs?
|
I'm pretty sure they are snowed out of the shop... got about 30" on the ground!
|
damn, Washington has been getting hit really hard this year
|
Snow

Lou,
Can you tell me the benefits of the tire setup you are planning on going with? I know absolutely nothing about tires... I kinda know truck tires cause I always buy big badass ones for my trucks lol, but I know nothing when it comes to performance tires.... I know that bigger most likely equals more traction but what else is there? Just doin my part to keep this thing off topic!... Thanks |
there is a ton you can read on this and no one is going to be able to give you a few words that just make it all click, unfortunately... suggest reading this because it gets at your question directly... Tire Test: The Quick and the Tread - Comparison Tests here's a good reference for tire codes Car Bibles : The Wheel and Tyre Bible Page 1 of 4
re the question of width, the goal is contact patch... that is going to relate to how inflated the tire is, width, weight of vehicle etc... from there, you need a low treadware rating to increase friction with the road/track surface, and then you need a suspension that keeps the tire planted against the road - read about that here Caster, Camber, Toe and here http://www.carbibles.com/suspension_bible.html |
Tread Wear
Grip Performance Road Noise Weather Conditions Comfort Ride Quality Just a few to name of the top of my head. The RE11'S and the NT05's are probably the best high performance street tires out. I need some wider and grippier tires to hold this power to the road. Hence the new set up. |

Yeah, you were pretty much like, "well, if I don't have tires I would just be driving on metal rims, and that'd probably be loud.
