Indeed. With no oil cooler I was up to 250 on the dragon.

I wasn't experiencing any issues with the tranny, I was consistently down shifting to second for heavy engine breaking and acceleration through each turn. After running out and back I was finally able to get engine oil temp to 290 F and trigger limp mode for a minute. But most of the time my engine oil held at 280 F. I agree, new pads will be a must next time. Having said that, the Sport Brakes held up MUCH better than the Base brakes on my '03 350Z. One run on the Dragon and they were trashed.

Well, Z1 is coming out with some J hook rotors. I will be going to those and getting some hawk pads as well. I have been dying for some J hooks!!!
I am not sure about the boost and SRM. It's never been an issue until the dragon. It happened twice and I turned it off. Just felt like the car was surging on the downshift, which wasn't good accelerating in mid turn....talk about effing up your line. |

Yeah so I plaid around with the SRM at lunch a little more. Lou, I think your might be right about it being slow in 2nd gear. It seems like down shift to mid-rpm in 2nd ~4500 gives a brief overshoot to the RPM up to 5000. It takes maybe few tenths of second to settle to 4500. This was at constant speed. under breaking with FI I'm guessing the surge with the overshoot is probably alot more noticeable.
Most of the time on the Dragon I was downshifting to 2nd at higher RPM while initiating breaking, and didn't really notice the overshoot.
