jran76 03-29-2010 02:14 PM

There is a *rumor* on some of the other forums today that AAM filed for bankruptcy. Anyone know anything about this?

I used the ** because this is 100% a rumor. I have nothing against AAM, and I am just trying to get clarification. I hope the best for them....

FuszNissan 03-29-2010 02:35 PM

No idea?

They are still conducting business as normal.

semtex 03-29-2010 02:47 PM

Maybe their Unicorn Blood futures took a nosedive. ;)

Clint responded in one of the threads, so they are at least alive. I know there are some people out there that don't like them, and it very possibly was just an unfounded rumor started by some of those people. I am not sure what the deal is, but they are definitely around....

cjof2003 04-17-2010 09:34 AM

Sorry if i'm a little slow, but its a LONG thread. Where are the vids?!?!

IvoryG 04-17-2010 03:19 PM

Is altered atmosphere still around? Their web page doesn't work anymore and the sponsor forum on the the370Z forum is gone. I was looking at a couple days ago.

They closed down the old shop in Gaithersburg and moved to a bigger facility in Annapolis and are now operating under the name of "AAM Competition."

370Z Report AAM Competition, LLC to Open Brand New State-of-the-Art Facility

JB-370z 04-22-2010 05:22 PM

Seriously,

RCZ take it easy on GTM... I am saying this on my behalf not on theirs. I know your intent isnt to bash them but to some it will come off that way. Every thread you have been posting in with comments regarding GTM have had negative connotations from you. JB's comment was referring to the fact that AAM now has a big enough facility and the tools to create great products. Time will tell how their products come out. its a big step to go from custom builds to production pieces and I applaud them

I am with you on this one Bullitt. I have wanted to say something on many occassions where all I read was neg. comments about GTM from RCZ. Infact I have read many neg. comment from RCZ about many things but mainly GTM. There is so many negitive comments from RCZ I could actully make a post full of old negitive comments. By looking at his sig he has everything Stillen makes for the 370z, Stillen just happens to also be in a unwritten competion at the moment over producing a better Supercharger with GTM and RCZ just happens to be part of the supercharger crew. Well I am sick of hearing it from RCZ about how bad he dislikes GTM, but this is a public forum so having to read his negitive comments on the regular from this guy is just something I will have to continue to read.
No telling how it sways newbies on the forum to think about GTM.
AAM: I see many good things for AAM as time progesses.

RCZ 04-23-2010 12:26 PM

AAM's thread, not arguing about gtm here.

Stay on topic.

I would like to know more about the gauge install if anyone related with AAM or Fusz is reading this thread anymore. I remember reading it was very complicated, could you give us a little more detail.

fuct 04-23-2010 01:19 PM

bickering aside, NICE PLACE AAM!!!!!

Man you guys are on my *** about this lately. I can't write anything about GTM, whether its true or not because someone will cry about it. You focus on the fact that I'm writing anything about them instead of the fact that they have pictures up of a shop they don't have. That's perfectly ok, right?? You're worried about the newbies though, right? God forbid someone states some truth about GTM once in while. I'm gonna PM you Bullitt because I wanna share some stuff with you.

Look buddy, watch what you say...no crying involved on my end. I am simply pointing out how the majority of comments writen on your behalf about GTM is negitive. If any thing I am sick of hearing your winey comments about GTM, and oviously im not the only one who feels the same way. -THE END-

StillenZ 04-23-2010 06:26 PM

lol... when i can't find drama in my own life I know where I can go!

JB-370z 04-24-2010 09:34 AM

I see you manged to edit and delete one of your post RCZ. Anywho I can't wait to see the kind of turbo kits AAM will produce with their new state of the art shop!!

I would like to hear about the gauge install too!

JB-370z 04-24-2010 01:53 PM

Still waiting on someone to do a defi gauge install comparable to AAM's where they filled in the stock locations with Defi's.....I am going to turbo soon and I think I might want something other than whats in there....Maybe oil temp, oil pressure, boost.

travisjb 04-24-2010 02:27 PM

one thing that concerns me about this is that the SRM and other canbus functions roll through the OEM 3x gauge cluster... i'm assuming that when people replace these gauges they are remote mounting the original cluster, and would be interested in getting some confirmation/discussion on that

Dam I have not even thought about this...hum.....Who ever does this first will find out.

FuszNissan 04-26-2010 10:18 AM

I don't know about the install, but my SRM works prefect, and the gear display on the dash work as well. I am very happy with the gauge cluster install, done very clean.

StillenZ 04-26-2010 06:49 PM

How many miles you driven since the build Lou? Still feeling good?

Lou we are dying for some more feedback  - we love you man. :hello:

FuszNissan 04-27-2010 06:50 AM

In have put about 1600 miles om the car since I got her back. The tune is great, the power response is instant, it drives and shifts smooth, and feels like it came from the factory this way. It's hard to keep traction in 1st and 2nd at WOT. FI is a blast! Like I said before my only complaint is the injectors are loud. We all know the factory injectors are loud so we you upgrade just be prepared for a little louder ticking. The SRM works perfect, the gauges are perfect, don't know what else you are looking for. I don't want to drive another NA Z again.

StillenZ 04-27-2010 08:55 AM

lol.. thanks for the response... I don't wanna drive an NA Z period!

FuszNissan 04-27-2010 09:09 AM

:tiphat:

B1nks 04-27-2010 11:31 AM

You had to throw in the thing at the end about not wanting to drive a Z like mine..NA. Rub it in Lou ! Just RUUUUB it in !

j/k but I envy you very much sir, thanks for the feedback ! :tiphat:

FuszNissan 04-27-2010 11:35 AM

I know some people were a little turned off by the whole Forge and GTM thing, but honestly don't let that scare you, yes there are some gambles, but if you find a place that will do it right, it's very rewarding and fun.

As long as there is one node to terminate that canbus line it should work, otherwise you can use some terminating resistors at the end of the line or disconnect the entire line starting at the source.

Brazilbro 04-27-2010 12:16 PM

when are you going to take it out to the 1/4 mile and see what she can do and set a 370z record time and speed!!!!

Well I took the ride to Zdayz, almost 20 hours round trip, plus a couple of runs through the Dragon , and the Skyway. All I have to say is wow, those roads are amazing, the views are just breath taking. The car ran like a champ! 6.5 hours was my longest run with out a stop. She ran like a dream at 78mph. I have found that my tires are rubbing a little on aggressive turns. So I am assuming its from the added weight up front and the wider tires as well. I know Sharif is running this set up but with coilovers , so he is probably got a stiffer set up with less body roll then me. I showed sharif where it was rubbing, I will have to get coilovers down the road. I do know that better brakes is a must for those roads. I also had to turn my SRM off half way through the dragon. 2nd gear downshift would just surge in hard hair turn pins. Almost like it was accelerating when I let out the clutch. I noticed it more on down hill hair pins. Then on level hard down shifts to second it was like the RPM's could have been another 500 higher. It would jerk as soon as I let out the clutch. So I just ran without the SRM for the rest of the trip. I am not sure if the tranny was just to hot and it was messing up?? Who knows. I can see if you are running those roads a tranny cooler would come into play. But other than that the car pulled hard and handled well. I would encourage everybody to come down atleast one year... that was hella fun!!!

RCZ 05-24-2010 04:57 PM

awesome, how did the engine oil temp hold up?

FuszNissan 05-24-2010 05:13 PM

Engine temp was never over 115 Celsius on the dragon. When on the highway it was about 90-100. I would definitely say the oil cooler was a plus!
