What's a RFS?

I figured for a 66% increase that the pump would NEED to be changed every time.

The pump was changed to a walbro 255lph during the intial build. We swapped in a new walbro for good measure in case the walbro in the car was malfunctioning.

RFS: Return Fuel System

FuszNissan 03-01-2010 03:18 PM

I appreciate the update Clint. Do you think that was hindering some top end power?

well, i had been following the thread RELIGIOUSLY :bowrofl::bowrofl:

to be honest, AAM is one of reasons why i bought my Z....(i read from a 350z forum that their TT kit was offered for $10K installed)...... thus, i had incorrectly surmised the installed price for 370z.......

i would have pulled the trigger for a TT kit, had it not been for $15K+ cost....

thus, still debating and comparing..........between SC and TT

btw, i live in VA, about an hour from AAM, so i know well about the weather issue/problem....

in fact, if you look back, i was the one to inform about the 40 inches of snow.....

in any matter, i was just hoping for AAM to communicate better with the forum members here...... common courtesy, it's just a thought........

IMHO, no matter how busy you are, it takes only a couple of minutes to post updates/progress......

by no means am i questioning the reliability of their work or products (from what i have heard, by far the best or one of the best tuners for Zs), but i also have gathered inputs from other members about their service credibility as well, both good and bad...... i have yet to deal with them, thus i will defer my opinion for later......

:bowrofl: "simple things that make whole lot of difference"...... once again, it's just an opinion.

btw, AAM thanks for the update.....

theDreamer 03-01-2010 03:35 PM

If you wanted a TT, I would just wait a bit longer and I am sure the price might come down. Plus in the meantime you can buy your supporting mods (exhaust, oil cooler, etc) and AAM will get their TT kit ready for you. ;)

I agree with you 100%. We (me especially) need to spend more time on up on here! Which I will make an effort to do.

And thanks for the comments. Hopefully one day, sooner than later, your Z will be TT.

thank you for your understanding and taking the input professionally and constructively.......much appreciated....:tup::tup::tup:

as far as going TT, i too hope it is sooner than i think, or else might have to settle for a SC....... $5000 intro price for GTM SC is very tempting....

it is just that TT kit is DAMN too expensive at this point.....

either way, i probably get the work done at AAM.....

btw, recently GTM offered their TT kit for $7000 installed - it's just one time deal to make an installation DVD/manual.....

if you guys need/offer such a deal or something comparable, please let me know....

either stay NA with some bolt-ons or go FI, but i probably will regret with NA set up.........so most likely FI.........

i figure if i were to go FI, i probably will end up keeping the car for many and many years.........so bigger stroker kit with rebuilt engine down the road.....

but it is a big commitment and a huge dent in my finance.... or just sell my Z and get a used GTR and be done with FI for the moment :icon18::icon18:

we ll have to see...........

3SeventyZ 03-01-2010 05:25 PM

Looks like it's coming along nicely guys.

I know they are getting very close to making a kit which will cost less. Not sure what the status is on that.

vipor 03-02-2010 08:27 AM

StillenZ 03-02-2010 10:29 AM

FuszNissan 03-02-2010 10:31 AM

I will give a full review, with vids.

StillenZ 03-02-2010 10:31 AM

can't wait... any new new news?

JB-370z 03-02-2010 11:17 AM

Who is suposed to make a cheaper TT kit? GTM?
I would love to know about this....

roplusbee 03-02-2010 05:19 PM

<offtopic>

I am looking to get my work done at AAM for whichever F/I option looks the best. I would love to go TT, but I am holding out until I see how the SC options stack up. In the mean time, that give me a chance to stack my pennies.

</offtopic>

I am waiting patiently for that review Lou. Actually, I'm gonna PM you. I have a couple questions/thoughts that I would like your opinion on some things.

Clint@Altered 03-02-2010 08:09 PM

Still working on it guys. I can tell you that it gets into boost fast as hell and really wants to get up an go! I cant wait till we can stretch it out on the dyno as I feel its going to make some solid power once we can rev it out all the way. Should have some updates tomorrow :). We're hoping to nail down the fueling issues as soon as possible!

travisjb 03-02-2010 08:11 PM

haha... now I think you're just toying with us

Clint@Altered 03-02-2010 08:14 PM

Naw, I wouldn't do that, LOL.

But seriously, we've narrowed everything down and are aiming to have her back on the dyno within a day or two with any fueling issue resolved.

370zproject 03-03-2010 02:34 PM

will be awaiting

:shakes head::shakes head::shakes head::shakes head::shakes head:

am i missing something?

no post for 2 days? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm............

simply unheard of......................

:bowrofl::bowrofl::bowrofl::bowrofl::bowrofl:

FuszNissan 03-05-2010 08:57 AM

LOL....
The Z is running lean in the high RPM's, so they can't stretch her legs out all the way(easy guys)

So, they have tested the Injectors, fuel pump, fuel sending unit, just about the whole fueling system. In which everything is checking out normal.

AAM is now making a RFS (Return Fuel System) which most of it was produced in-house, some parts were ordered and should arrive today. Hope to have her on the dyno by the end of today.

Thanks for everyones concern.

BlackCherryZ 03-05-2010 09:28 AM

thanks for the update.......... hope everything works out.......SOON....... as we eagerly wait for the finished masterpiece.....

vipor 03-05-2010 09:40 AM
