Is comp trying to say it ate something with no damage to the intake fins and it took out the HOT side bearing? That excuse does not match the damage to the returned bags of parts. Got to view the disassembled failed turbo yesterday up close
Also viewed the most recent failed one that’s air cooled & less than 1k miles on it Also noticed how the runners on the twin scroll mounting base differs on the water cooled vs. the air cooled Kinda speechless, as I’m really unsure what’s gonna be the proper solution to get this issue worked out

That's not the case with Madwi's unit. The inlet impeller has no FOD marks on it. It's clean. The impeller has rub marks on the sides from contact with the volute. The shaft shows high heat almost to the inlet side bearings. The grease that was on the turbine end has changed to a waxy ash. The grease that was in the inlet side bearings is still good. The turbine side bearings failed from a break down of the grease caused by the high heat generated from the turbine end.
