It should. I have the same one as part of a set and it worked on my 2012 & 2015.

Thanks for your inquiry! Yes, the VQ series is in development now. Please check back mid-summer for an update.
I was specifically asking about their vulcan steel ring + composite gasket.

I wont be even close to building my engine before summer. Probably another summer or two AFTER this one.

I installed my lighter ebay clutch spring today. In the parking lot of a plant nursery in -5 degree weather. Was actually really easy. I drove the first half of the day on the oem spring and then rest on the new one. Can't say I felt much of a difference really.

These guys keep popping up in my social media

The video on the page seems interesting. Not that I need it but I wonder if anyone has looked into this before. Also they are local to me which is nice.

So we have our 200 Nm target and we have, via wastegate control, a throttle inlet pressure that is higher than our requested manifold pressure. We call the difference between TIP and MAP the “Throttle Plate Delta Pressure” and this intentionally generated pressure difference is what makes the modern control system work.

The ECU is now able to control the inlet manifold pressure by regulating the amount of airflow allowed to pass through the throttle blade from the intake system. Having a little more air pressure in the intake system than the manifold gives us an instantly available reserve of pressurised air and thus instantaneous throttle response when needed. Let me try and put that into a couple of scenarios.
super interesting stuff

Got my manifold in today. Looks truly spectacular. Not really going to need it for a long long time tho.

Added audio to my list up upgrades. Going to do headunit and a JL audio amp + sub to start off. later on upgrade the oem speakers with JL audio speakers + another JL audio amp/dsp combo unit.

in worse news someone dinged my passenger fender with their door and left a nice dent. Good thing I planned to replaced those I guess.

This tun software for control of JL dsp is pretty amazing. Lots of it is over my head but it helps to plan. Need to talk to my audio shop but the plan currently is.

step 1:
JL HD1200/1 for the subwoofer connected to the sub output of my upgraded double din.

step 2:
the above screen shot
double din outputs now go straight to JL VX800/8i
pre out L carries sub channel to the JL HD1200/1
4 bridged channels power 2 tweeters and 2 woofers in the door.

later on i'll add two midrange speakers, either unbridging 2 of the VX800/8i outputs to do it, or adding another 2channel VXI and a vxi hub.

probably overkill, have to ask the sound folks

speakers i'm looking at are JL w7 and c7 range.

brainiac

I've seen a couple people do a Brainiac 370z tablet install. Thought it was cool but didn't really look into it until the other day.

I think the thing that sold me is the integration of relay control via Arduino Uno. It's another thing for me to mess with. Luckily I have an Arduino sitting around not being used for anything already.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/4x4g1dtv1b...20PM.png?raw=1
Relay Control via android app

I really wanted a wireless apple car play head unit. But apparently there are wireless apple carplay usb devices that turn any android device into an apple car play capable device.

Also with a tablet I can just load Spotify on the tablet directly which is pretty nice.

other things that can be run are apps like Harry's Lap timer. OBDII diagnostics via my OBDLink MX+

The tablet is huge and supports two apps on stacked on top of eachother which i think is actually going to be really nice

if you fast forward to 3:00 you can see the split screen in action

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pkw-50Qa6rQ?t=183

The relay can be used for any number of internal accessories. the relays supported can handle a 10amp load. Not useful for pumps and all that but for extra interior lighting, and the like it's pretty neat.

I'm going to install an AUTO-VOX v5 pro so I don't need the backup camera to show up in the tablet screen, although with a bit of work that's actually possible to do.

Excited!!

So while planning my audio build I've realized it makes a lot of sense to relocate my battery first. I was thinking a little extra capacity would also be nice.

Antigravity 80AH battery looks like what I'm going to go with.

Going to copy with travisjb and wstar did in this thread and install in in the trunk. Run a 1/0 gauge power wire (OFC Kolossus fleks cable) Thinking to buy this Stinger 300amp circuit breaker for the battery negative connection to use like they did in the thread as battery killswitch.. Probably stick to regular ANR fuses and distribution blocks for the audio wiring tho.

Wondering if I should run a 4awg ground wire (OFC again) up to the alternator ground point in the engine bay to shore up the ground connection. Ideally I'd prefer to do it all at once.

Found a dual circuit fuse/ground distribution block that will work perfectly for my setup.
Ordered the circuit breaker and Knuconceptz battery terminals from amazon. Found a great site for auto electrical stuff https://ceautoelectricsupply.com/
They have lots of great bundles or 'kits' as well as basically everything I need.

Oh and I ordered a stillen grounding kit from whiteheadperformance as well.

Included with the electronics kit are a couple things that are interesting.
Noise filter for the amp side (OEM audio harness)
Ground loop isolator for the tablet audio out side.
USB-C OTG charge and data (most important to me)

When my VXi amp is installed i'm going to bypass both the noise filter and ground loop isolator. using the USB data connection to pass audio to my Douk USB-SPDIF adapter

So my amp will get a clean digital signal from the tablet.
Would be nice for brainiac to sell a version of the electronics without any audio circuitry. Though I suppose it wouldn't be that hard to build it yourself if you never plan to use the integrated audio stuff.

thinking of buying these. 3300CAD apparently for a square 18 x 10.5 setup.

both i'd want in satin black face with polished lip i think

SeeThruHead 06-04-2021 01:40 PM

also didn't know about these. wonder if they are reliable. don't know if i'm going to need an alternator upgrade anyway. thinking probably not but good to know the options

I ordered one of these and hated it. The camera is on the right side and it ***** with the camera viewing angles. the dot matrix on windshield gets in frame. with the mirror tilted towards the driver that pulls the camera back away from the windshield and you get reflections and artifacts in the frame. The video playback is pretty outdated and grainy also. Idk if you bought it already but if not might want to look at other options.

haha yes bought and installed already.
I didn't really buy it for the dashcam functionality tho. it's purely a bonus. I'm definitely not that impressed with the camera quality. I have angled the mirror towards my face straight on. So the front camera is even worse. I did that because I wanted to test using the camera as a rearview mirror. without having the glare / double image that comes from using the reflective rear view.
Honestly thinking i'm going to turn it back and have the screen turn off after 1 min. and just use it as a backup camera. probably install a phone connected dash cam at some point with better cameras.

EDIT: it actually works pretty good as a rear view mirror. I mounted it to the top of the hatch window. and the camera is wide enough to completley cover the sides of the vehicle. I have no blind spots at all. The only issue with that is the wide angle makes vehicles directly behind me look pretty far away compared to reality. Something I'm getting used to slowly, but not sure if i'm going to keep using it this way anyway.

SeeThruHead 06-06-2021 09:19 PM

After chatting with a guy over at Adrena Garage i'm starting to change my mind about suspension. a little. I called them because they have 2 staff that own 370z, and they race them. Guy pushed me pretty hard on the phone towards BC Forged wheels and BC racing digressive coilovers. Don't really have any interest in BC forged wheels tho. Didn't really like anything they offer, would rather save for HRE instead.

The DR/DS series of coilovers from bc racing does seem pretty good. If I understand correctly the digressive makes them feel stiffer in low speed compression, like turning into a corner and softer for high speed. like bumps and potholes?

Then I started to think about spring rates, the FEAL i was looking at are 10k/5k (true type). maybe i should up it a little bit to 12k/6k. Especially since I plan to add sound deadening and subwoofer in the rear.

Now I'm looking at coilovers I start looking at the TEIN Mono sport and EDFC Active combo. Seems really cool to have active suspension on the 370z. Though I can't find that many people that actually run this setup. Maybe for good reason... Not really sure how good the coilovers are from TIEN, it's the EDFC that intrigued me the most.

When looking at wheels I noticed theres a new tires just released. Continental ExtremeContact Force
Might try those out.

Am i right thinking this is the full SPL set for a 370z on true type coilovers? I think it's everything z1 sells anyway. They have a couple of different parts that fit the same place i think? Not sure if I've selected any conflicting parts here.

SeeThruHead 06-07-2021 11:14 AM

man i really don't know what kind of suspension to get, ffs.

so I want to do the Fast Intentions TDX catback. Obviously non Nismo as my car is a base model. But I do want to do a body kit. maybe ings+ or varis arising II. Can I just buy longer "nismo" tips from FI? or is there something else different about the nismo/non nismo versions of the exhaust?

certainly looks like the tips are longer, but so is the pipe that connects them to the mufflers...

It is more cheddar but you could just purchase the Nismo end pipe when you are ready!

i wonder how easy it would be to sell just the end pipe. Would FI sell someone everything BUT the end pipe so they could complete their set. Or am i restricted to selling it to people that have scratched up their mufflers and are looking for new ones. Kind of makes me think it would be easier to just buy a new complete set. I guess with the wait times a lightly used FI exhaust would go for close to full price anyway. Though I do want the version with cats and 18inch resonators. Which will limit potential buyers for resale, as it doubles the cost.

Agreed! The wait time for FI exhaust is definitely a thing right now so I would just order what will fit for your plans. You already have an exhaust that works.
