Currently tuning a 370Z with this kit. Honestly, great job. It's definitely a tight fit but the usage of a great flowing stock/upgraded header paired with twins makes for really low backpressure and the ability to run a lot of timing without any detonation.

Question, I’ve got the turbos on and close to finishing the install, but having some issues with the piping from the turbos to the IC, it looks like it would fit way easier if the heat shield around the headers was removed. Do I remove those?

I would love if this kit had normal ball bearing turbos... I think the hassle of having a scavenge pump system far outweighs the issues these turbos have.

Think he needs to give up on these oil less turbo's. Too many failures.

My scavenge pump stopped working in the first 500 miles so I disagree on the oil fed turbos. Guess what happens when you tie a turbo to the oil pan and that happens? Blown turbo, oil in intake and oil in exhaust, contaminated oil system, oil cooler, engine, etc. This was possibly install error as I popped a fuse in the pump line but it happened and it was a big job. If an oiless turbo has a problem then you have a minor problem. Ill take that over oil lines every day. Been there done that.
Everyone vocalizes their experience when they aren't happy but few chime in when they are satisfied. That's why Amazon pays people to actually reply with something positive. Perhaps I'm biased since I have been on my 6.2L F150 Comp oiless for over 35k miles and it still rips around like day one and I abuse the turbo on many accounts. I tow a camper in the summer and an ice castle in the winters. I tend to plant the throttle for sub par reasons to put a smile on my face more than I should. I don't even oil it as often as i should because I'm looking for an excuse to upgrade but it just keeps living. Perhaps it's because it's a water cooled turbo vs pure air cooled but I'm going to an air cooled if it ever $hitz the bed on me.

But those chiming in about the sweaty dumpster fire that is COMP turbo are those invested people I just mentioned. As an example, we pulled apart my busted (after 882 miles) COMP turbo at a Z meetup. The gents who did so were physically present when humans first figured out that fire could make steam, and that it was good. They determined that COMP forgot to grease the turbo before shipping it. That is an example of their shoddy manufacturing that should rightfully be called out. As for the oil lines for the TC, first thing I and others (not gonna name names without their permission) did when replacing our busted COMPs was add filters to the oil lines to and from the turbo. Solves that metal fragment issue nicely. |

That solves the cleaning of the oil cooler. Won't solve a blown turbo, oil in exhaust and oil in intercooler piping and intercooler. The fact you added a filter is good, but also eludes to the fact you're anticipating a failure or you wouldn't need to do it.

I am gona have To jump in on this conversation but I will try to stay neutral,TRY,
My z has had its share of modifications so far, gtm stage 2 kit back from the good old sam days, to currently twin 58mm oil less comp turbos, all the work has been done by my self, both kits. Tune down by seb from day one which is always a plus. I gotta say I was extremely hesitant to go to the oil less comp turbos due to reviews I found all over , but I decided since I’ve gone this far in taking a perfectly good stock z apart, modding this modding that, upgrading things that were new, pushing the stage 2 gtm kit to it’s limits , now on to a turbo kit, why not , i new what I was getting into by going oil less, it’s all a waste of money no matter what kit you go with, but man those twin 58mm punch you in the back of the head and I’ve gotten to ,I believe 3000 miles on the them so far, and don’t jinxx me there still together, so I have warranty till July 2022 so I definitely could be back on here saying “hey guys I blew my oil less turbos up” but I’ll tell you those first 3000miles were fun as ...k .long story short iam neutral and all these options are risky, some more then others, I guess maybe if we don’t want any issues at all then LEAVE THE CAR STOCK. |

Failing to prepare is preparing to fail. Just my personal preference but I'd rather have a system that's drown-proofed six ways to Sunday and time-tested as opposed to some new nano-space grease that COMP made up to get around the plumbing, cost, and fitment issues inherent in oil-lubed and water-cooled TCs. and IIRC other members whose oilless COMP TCs catastrophically failed on them had a fair amount of shrapnel in their piping and ICs. But it all depends on a personal level of comfort I suppose..
