No I took a little break from it. Just started playing with it again yesterday.
I have decided that making the stock driveshaft work is going to hold up the project, so I will revisit that later. I don't have any reason yet to believe that my original plan for it wouldn't work, but I think it will take longer than I want to wait right now. I am going to spec up a custom driveshaft to order next week to get things moving along. I will need the option anyway, because even if I make the parts to use the stock shaft, I think most people will opt out of that option when they see how the stock u-joints are held into the yokes (stock shaft was constructed intentionally to not be rebuild-able). |

Having gone from a MT6 Z to a GT-R, you guys that do this are in for some fun. Driving a DCT with paddle shifters is the ultimate video game!

I have to admit, I run consistantly faster lap times with paddle shifters on my simulator.

Very exciting to see this moving forward! Makes sense to go with the dct over a zf8, much better aftermarket. Besides clutch upgrades, a number of companies have cracked control of the getrag.
MaxxECU and Syvecs have full standalone solutions, and HTG/DKGECU offer their own TCUs (I assume you're looking at the latter here). Any idea if you'll have to cop an f8x dct shift knob? Would be real nice to keep things nissan. In bmw world, these swaps are usually done to accommodate gear ratio changes or to get rid of the slow ZF6. Never seen anyone do a manual to dct swap, I'm sure that will make integrating a controller a little simpler. Also the flexibility of FD ratios on this platform is a huge perk we don't have with the e9x/e8x cars. |

We wont be using Nissan shifters in our 2 test cars (aside from the bolt-in paddles). However, any vehicle owner that chooses to do the swap will naturally have their freedom to use any type of shifter solution they wish to construct or wire up.

As for an update, The driveshaft got here about a week ago. Its pretty nice, a little lighter than stock. By the time I add the adapter to the front of it, it should be about the same weight as stock or maybe a pound heavier. I will get that adapter made any day now, just havent had time to work on it... very busy season.

This year has been a wild ride. Can’t believe it’s already halfway though august. Well Saturday I wrapped up the physical install of the trans by building a trans crossmember/bracket.

If you didn’t move a couple pins from the BCM and IPDM then you will have the key light. Also reconfiguring the BCM with a MT part number and reprogramming the ECM with a MT part number(assuming you’ve done that) should finish off the electronics side. If you need any info on which wires to de-pin, or which wires need to be added to gain a real factory feel and look, PM me.

Nothing worth mention. I am catching up on a massive backorder log jam here before I can start on a production run of the adapter plates. I am hoping to make some moves on it in December.
Due to time limitations with working on cars this year, I actually just pulled it all out, had it anodized, and sent it to Seb. So any progress as far as having it running in my car is going to be postponed until far into next year, as I wont have the parts for myself again until the production run comes. |

Check out SpecialtyZ's IG post to see a preview video of the first DCT 370z running and shifting gears on the lift. We are in the final stretch.
