The only thing the rules say for transmissions is "Sequentially shifted gearboxes are not permitted unless OEM. Gear sets are open"

Guess it depends on the interpretation of "Sequential" but my thought is no based on the fact that the DCT can skip gears if you tell it to.

Very cool. I'm going to have to read the rules again. The only deals the fastest drivers are in that group followed by limited class. Cars in both groups would podium in the unlimited class.

Nah, I will go to the drag strip first and try to break the 1/4 mile record. Then I will think about it. LMAO!!!! No way the input shaft would last. No since in taking out a good part. Then the quest
to get a Motec to run it.

Yeah Street class is crazy competetive. I was just over 5 seconds off of Amir in the NSX when it was his first time at the track. I'm not built out to class limits yet either, having trouble finding weight to shave lol.

Let's move to your build thread and not hijack this one.

You right.

Can't wait to see everything in motion Charles! Thankful for all you do for the Z34 Chassis when everyone else has given up!

Classification of DCT swaps have been getting controversial and with a few folks jumping on the DCT wagon in time attack, I expect it to be the hot topic of 2021.

I'll be swapping out the 7AT so hoping for pretty minimal weight gain.

Well you better hurry up and get to the strip. Justin’s record isn’t going to last long.

LOL, I am in no big rush at all. I need to get out of the blackhole for a while. Sucking the energy out of me.

Come down florida, ask Al to use his wheels, set the record and go home.

I saw the progress yesterday on Sebastian account and I got excited for it, very very interested in this project, as much as I like the stick at the track, but if I wanted to chase times, this will be my choice, looks like I need to save from now :yum:

Car has been driven. Seb has it performing shift cut too, which is great.. it cuts off power momentarily while alternating clutch packs. This was a feature I thought might take longer to get dialed in but he had it working first time out. Seb sounded really excited about it when I talked to him today, and said it makes the car so much nicer to drive around, and he expects he will drive the car a lot more often now. There are a couple small quirks he wants to work out and then he will have videos to share.

Will this transmission solely be a replacement for the manual?
Or potentially an option for the A/T guy’s as well?

It'll be an option for the A/T guys too. I asked Seb that when I talked to him the other day.

See if you can go for a ride, then take a video.

I'm headed there on Saturday so I am hoping to get a little first person action.
