Aw ;[ I read and read and read through the thread from the beginning, my heart pounding with each post. I knew by the time I'd reach the end, surely the results would be there!

Unfortunately I found this thread too early =[

It seems that a lot of us have made estimates on the potential cap of the VQ37 at maybe 550, but what is the limit to the transmission???

Right, that's somewhat common knowledge though. The clutch is designed to be an interchangeable item as it wears over time, much like tires and other frictional contact points. I'm still curious though if anyone has done any strenuous testing on the manual transmission to determine its lifetime.

The IS300 5 speeds are well known to be made of glass. They were designed for the n/a 2JZ-GE which makes such little power that Lexus never assumed people would break them.

first tranny blew because my stage one ACT clutch (20% stronger than stock) shattered my stock tranny. oh i had a lightweight flywheel also.

second tranny broke with factory clutch and same lightweight flywheel.
